JUST DROPPING IN FOR A FEW OBSERVATIONS AND TO SAY HELLO TO MY
FELLOW SELLERS - I USE THE TERM LOOSELY! -

SINCE THE NEW TAB SYSTEM STARTED, OUR BIDS HAVE GONE WAY DOWN
AGAIN - A CONSTANT AND FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE.

HAS ANYONE NOTICED THAT ON YOUR SELLER'S PAGE ON THE TABS - LIKE
TODAY - IT SAYS AUCTIONS ON THE FIRST TAB - BUT, GO TO THE
FRONT/HOME PAGE AND IT DOESN'T SAY AUCTIONS ON ANY OF THE TABS -
ARE THEY TRYING TO MAKE SELLERS THINK THAT AUCTIONS ARE ON THE
FIRST PAGE TABS TOO?

WHAT A CON JOB!

WE WEATHERED THE CHANGE IN ENDING TODAY LISTINGS, THE BID FOR
FEATURED CONSTANT PAYMENTS, NOW THE TAB SITUATION ADDED TO THE
BURDENS JUST MENTIONED AND IT IS A BIT MUCH FOR EVERYONE
CONCERNED WITH MAKING SOME MONEY/A LIVING ON AMAZON AUCTIONS.

WE LIST IN EVERY PRICE RANGE - EVERY TYPE OF ITEM IN OUR
CATEGORY, ANCIENT WORLD - FROM EVERY COUNTRY, EVERY TIME PERIOD,
LOWER OUR PRICES CONSTANTLY EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE VERY LOW TO
BEGIN WITH, TAKE BETTER AND BETTER PICTURES AND CREATE BETTER AND
MORE INTERESTING ADS WITH MORE INFORMATION - THESE THINGS ALL
WORK VERY WELL ON EBAY - AMAZON, BUT, NOOOOOOO! WHAT DOES WORK
ON AMAZON - ASKING THE STAFF FOR HELP? HAVING YOUR FEEDBACK
ADDRESSED INTELLIGENTLY? NOOOOOOO.

OF COURSE, THE POM-POMS WILL STILL SAY THAT WE ARE ALL DOING
SOMETHING WRONG AND THEY ARE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT - DON'T YOU
JUST LOVE THAT? RUB SALT IN THE OLD WOUNDS OF THE SUFFERING.

WELL, WE DID IT THE SAME WAY ON AMAZON WHEN WE GOT LOTS OF BIDS
AND SOLD LOTS OF ITEMS AND ALSO DO IT THE SAME WAY ON EBAY - SO,
LET'S PUT THE BLAME WHERE IT BELONGS - NOT CRITICIZING THE
SELLERS, BUT THE VENUE. WE LOOKED IN ANCIENT WORLD AND SAW ABOUT
SIX BIDS ON THE WHOLE CATEGORY - NOW DOES THIS MEAN THAT ALL OF
THOSE SELLERS ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG?

FOR INSTANCE - LOOK JUST BELOW THE TABS AND SEE ALL THE ROOM TO
PUT AUCTIONS INSTEAD OF FLAKY, NON-PROFITABLE CATEGORIES LIKE
FREE E-MAIL CARDS, ETC.

IT WORKED BEFORE - BUT THEY FIXED IT - AND FIXED US ALL IN THE
BARGAIN.

Whoa dere, brother, don't attack your rooting section, and yes, as a matter of fact, that's all I got out of it since I haven't sold on Amazon for 9 months and never will again because they were in my opinion just as bad as you describe them to be NOW then. Here, take one of these :::tosses Jupiter 25 valium:::

Hello,

Please address the topic and not each other.

Perhaps someone can teach azillion how to change the font size on the computer instead of taking shots at the CAPS!

Thanks,

This is the most unprofessional board I've been to in a long time.... Seems like every other post I read, searching for answers to my questions, is a "shooting match".

Sorry I couldn't get to know you all better but you are so busy fighting amongst yourselves that you wouldn't have time to do what this board was set up to do in the first place - assist others with Amazon.com questions.

singingeagleusa: We answer serious questions and assist each other all day long. Most of our concerns are with Amazon (the venue) and not with each other. Arguments tend to involve individuals who don't even sell on Amazon. Of course, you can always go over to the Ebay Outlook where all the coolheaded "professionals" hang out to verify whether eBay has crashed again or not.

I really wish those who "drop in" now and again just to leave nasty remarks about Amazon would get their kicks elsewhere. If you're doing so much better in another venue that's just great . . . but leave us alone.

I've sold over $1500 worth of merchandise in the last three days on Amazon and I'm happy here. If that's cheerleading, so be it.

I just love people who are part of a self-proclaimed "us." It's heartwarming. Is this a private club?

Well, it is nice when posters either list or intend to list on Amazon... or at least bid there. Give us a break from those who just have too much time on their hands and a bad attitude. (No one in particular)

Can you spell "passive-aggressive"? WHOOPS, I just did, I must have too much time on my hands.

Have I ever done anything to lead you to believe I can't spell?

Lately it's like: Ebay's down, don't want to list on Yahoo, so let's go over and rag on Amazon. I'm just tired of it.

Geez, lot's of steam in this message trail.

YES!!! Amazon is down. It's pretty obvious that they are focusing on their stores so that they can make pretty sales forecasts for the stock market crowd.

Just look at their advertised ADVANTAGE PROGRAM. There, retail sellers give Amazon their product and get 45%.

Now, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that in the other 55% Amazon will be making much more loot than my $40.00 per month and few points for One Click?

Also, they keep the customer info and get to service the customers uniformly. It makes lots of sense; for Amazon.

At the same time though they still offer the best Auction system, even in its reduced version.

I have recently tried a bunch of auctions on yahoo and they've been quite disapointing.

Just as I was about to try a few on Ebay they suspened my account arbitrarily on account of someone filing a NP! Good ol Ebay customer service!!

So, love it or hate it. Amazon works. It doesn't work as well as it has, but if you start TELLING Amazon what you want they may just one day listen!!

Okay everybody, perhaps I deserved this. Perhaps, I didn't. I just "dropped in" to this board because I am very interested in listing on Amazon. I spent a couple of hours reading the posts, yesterday, and got some of my "wonderings" answered.

I then left my own post with a few "starter" questions as well as what did Amazon do that had everybody so up in arms(?)....to which, for a long while, nobody addressed. When I saw this post, I thought it might in a way be an answer to my questions so I stayed up with it for a while until it ended up like so many others with the snide remarks. It got old. Thus, my remark.

Perhaps, I've taken the comments posted too seriously. You're right in that you don't just come in and make comments. Maybe you are all just kidding around with each other -something that I never thought about. If this is the case, please accept my apologies for misunderstanding. But, if one of you just came in as an outsider, needing to learn and you saw what appeared to be a lot of animosity, you might have come to the same conclusion as I did.

azillion -

I'm surprised you are still hanging on here. I gave up on Amazon months ago, because nothing I tried got my items to move here after they instituted all the "improvements."

Really, I agree with you the small sellers got used badly by Amazon, but why hang around and continue to suffer?

From what I remember of your posts, the changes at Amazon really hurt you. I sympathize with you, I really do. I put well over a year of hard work and high hopes into the site myself, and watched it go right out the window.

But, there is a big world out there, filled with customers who want to buy your things. It's time you went looking for them.

End of sermon.

I'm glad those who have left Amazon and will never darken its door again have learned how to spell "Passive Aggressive". By continuing to leave derogatory posts on the Amazon site they display this particular personality disorder very well.

Or perhaps they really do have too much time on their hands after all.

singingeagleusa: Just as Amazon is different from Ebay, so this board is different from the Ebay Outlook. Much small group of regular posters. I have not put anyone on ignore on this board in quite some time, while I have several EO regulars set to ignore. I am not sure what drives people who don't use the site to post here at all.

It is nice to see people posting to the board again. We had a long quiet spell.

Hey Jupiter. Your frustration is the same as the hundreds of other who jumped to Amazon and had very good sales and then were harmed by all the changes.

There are a few cheerleaders left at Amazon auctions, but there are fewer cheerleaders each passing week with each new swat from Amazon, just as there are fewer buyers, bidders, and browsers at Amazon auctions. If you didn't already know Amazon had an auction site, you would be hard pressed to find it since the last tab change.

The present cheerleaders will remain until their sales plummet, as they undoubtably will, and then they'll join the chourus of "us" whinners. Many have already joined the chorus that 2 months ago thought the complainers were lazy malcontents. The cheerleaders have dropped from 30 to about 3 so far. One thing is for sure, the present cheerleaders shouldn't have too much selling competition.

I have followed the Amazon auction decline for months. My last listing expired 2 weeks ago. I, like many others, emailed all my previous buyers and bidders and directed them to other auction venues, where they could find my items and others exiled from the Amazon auction desert.

Just vent and rest assured that the last cheerleaders will be joining the "whinners" soon. Amazon is again under profit pressure from Wall Street, and the auction site as we presently know it may end up being cut completely from the site - as if it didn't seem so already.

I can say that I have missed amazon. I made the decision to leave after all the changes and am not happy now with any of the other sites. Combative, out, down and not even an apology. Amazon at least says, "we're closed". Then they come back online.

I listed 5 auctions and no bids. Relisted. Ditto. But I couldn't even find my way to the auctions, they have hidden that well for some reason.
Interestingly, there is a story of some positive input about amazon's stock prices rising which may or may not effect auctions.
I will probably spot-post some auctions there, bid for placement, and see how things go. Otherwise, I feel in limbo because I don't feel like I really belong anywhere anymore.
Best of luck to the rest of you.

Congrats to weddingdoc -- glad to hear that you're doing so well based on your recent posting ...

However, what is your nickname/seller name on Amazon.com? I was wondering what type of merchandise you sell but could find no trace of a seller by the name of "weddingdoc" when I searched.

According to my "Recent Transactions" (the Your Payments Transactions page) at Amazon.com, I have not had any transactions in the last 30 days. But, yesterday and every day before that I had lots of transactions. Anyone else having this particular problem at Amazon.com? Seems like things are breaking left and right in Amazon.com's system.

azilion-- it would be a good idea to explain you visual problem-on your initital post. All boards jump on cappers. - I have a friend who does and he has special equipment to assist him-I hope you do??
As for any other rude attitudes - all boards have them - and they, from my experience, spend more time on them than others.....

Not sure I would come back here myself.....scared off ~~~~

Jupiter....You have it right.

Have dealt with them for a year very closely. The updates are a JOKE. They DO NOT want the sellers in Auctions. The things they have done is a "Corporate Way" os saying "We are not making enough money doing this".

It is getting worse....Not better.
