How is it going for Marketplace sellers this month? I've been slow, but thought that was due to having few items listed. I am gradually re-building my inventory.
Thing is, ebay is perking right along, so I don't think there is a "Recession-paranoia resistance to buying" mentality at place. Could be wrong. Those increased Postal rates are no joke.
Also, do you ever get International buyers? I get them regularly on ebay, but never for Marketplace.

sales are strong on marketplace and zshops, but only got on mid december, so i can't compare. few international sales, on marketplace, more on zshops. Question: how do you get buyers to leave feedback. have 150+ sales and only 2 feedback!

As soon as I posted my question, in came two orders from Marketplace! ; - )
As for feedback, I just got burned on half.com, a flaming negative after 700 positives on ebay. I complained to half.com about the problem [buyer didn't get the book, and didn't get a refund] and for my pains they are debiting my account.
So I am pretty turned off feedback on these fixed price venues.

i am on permanent vacation from half! don't worry about the bad feedback. because of the way half is set up, even the most consciencious seller is bound to get them.
i could very easily do without the whole feedback thing, but i view good feedback as a preemtive strike against the buyer who will leave a neg. because the po is slow, and take it out on me.

you can't leave feedback on marketplace for buyers who aren't actually registered with the auction and zshops portion of the site.

My sales in Dec and January have been great but I think as more and more of the big book sellers start selling on Amazon it will look more like half.com. All sorts of stuff at giveaway prices. Great for the customers though. I have had a few international sales and sometimes my book was more expensive than someone else's, but they did not ship internationally so I got the sale. It helps sometimes. So far the 12.00 has covered it. If its a big heavy book I normally won't sell internationally unless I anticipate getting a very good price for the book.
It seems like the only way to determine if a seller ships internationally is to start the "buy" procedure which must be a pain for them.
