Hi all:
Troy Wolverton here from CNET News.com. I'm working on a story about Amazon requiring its auction sellers to use its payment service. I'd love to know what you think about this new policy.
I just wanted to make clear that in the article I wasn't quoted quite clearly. I am very supportive of Amazon and it's where I list 99% of my auctions.
While some of the statements in the article are true. I mentioned many positives about Amazon.
Yes, I wish they'd have the same support they used to have and yes some of the changes have affected business and yes there's room for improvement but there's also room for improvement in all of our businesses.
I still believe Amazon will be number one eventually. I hope they improve sooner rather than later and I'd love to be a part of its and my companies evolution!

Hi Val,
No, I didn't use the phrase Amazon is imcompetant as quoted. I spent 15 minutes on the phone with Troy and most of what I said was positive. Even in his article I supported the Amazon payments.
Troy didn't mention that I said Amazon had the best auction platform. I was very honest. I wasn't an Amazon chest thumper and shared some of the problems that most of us have had over the past few months.
I just feel bad that Troy ended the article with that kind of quote. I asked him the slant of the story and he didn't mention that it would be anti-Amazon.
With over 2000+ live auctions and 100+ Marketplace listings I surely didn't want to do anymore damage to our market.
It's frustrating though. I already have recieved one email from Amazon. Things could be so much better for Amazon and us Sellers if they'd listen to us folks in the trenches.
They don't have to do what we say but I know I work 75 hours + per week building up my business and some of the changes at Amazon have been very hurtful.
Also it's getting increasingly difficult to communicate with anyone that can do anything at Amazon??
I get a front line person now who generally is very nice but can't do anything, passes on my concern and then I get an email back that while extremely friendly and polite doesn't answer my queury??
I could go on but won't. I still feel Amazon could be number 1 if it did the things it started out to do. And I hope that the powers that be at Amazon who are annoyed at me understand that I want Amazon to do better and be a part of that.

My quotes were all essentially accurate. -Rosalinda

Mine were too. Just that last comment about incompetancy was either a misquote or partial quote. It certainly was not a summation of my comments regarding Amazon!
If I'd known that the article was going to be against Amazon I wouldn't of participated.

Jamie, it was mentioned in the article that you're in Montreal, but have managed to sign up with Payments. How'd you manage this? I'm a fellow Canadian hoping to get going with Payments myself before they slit my proverbial throat on auctions and zshops (plus wouldn't mind doing some marketplace listings). Any help is muchly appreciated.
