I'm a seller on Marketplace and would
like to sign up with Z Shops to avoid paying
the additional dollar commission per book.
With the auction traffic being so low, are
Z Shops worth the time and investment? Thanks for any input.

Hi
I just went through this recently. I can tell you this. I have over 500 items listed on Amazon marketplace and some on the z shop only. To date I have sold nothing from the Z shop. Amazon marketplace has gotten quite a bit oh higher end book business. like $10, 15 and $20 books. Keep in mind that when you list on amazon marketplace your placement is before the z shop placement for the same books. Secondly you also get free relisting when you sign up for the z shop as well. This is good. As far as the extra fees with the books I sold the only benefit was the free relisting aspect. I may ahve sold 20 books therefore losing $20. Does anyone out there know how to increase z shop business. I am asking as well?In any event with all that Ebay and yahoo is doing with fees , I like amazon. The Z shop remains to be seen.

I have been doing quite well with zshops and auctions. For the $40 monthly fee, you can have up to 5,000 items listed at any time (not a per month limit). So if you sell 40 books or more on Marketplace in a month, you would be better off signing up for the zshop account. I don't know how the buyers find my zshop listings, but they do and the sales have been fairly steady for the last several months. My sales are split evenly between auctions and zshops. I usually have 200-400 listings total running at a time.

z shops are like having a retail website only found if you dig deep at amazon.

For the price you can get a domain name and hosting for your website lol.

Not worth the money if you ask me.

z shops are limited to amazon customers not the world wide web.

There might be a few sellers with whom it might be in their best interest to commit to that program. The ones that have heavy repeat business from amazon.

If you don't already have heavy repeat business in that venue then don't bother.

If you are selling more than 40 items a month on the Amazon Marketplace, then you will save money by signing up for the Pro Merchant program whether or not you actually use your zShop.
