I'm just curious as to whether any
of you are having sales on Marketplace.
I have been selling around 3 books per
day and have sold none in the past 2 days.
At least some of my listings seem to be
visible on Marketplace now. Are any of the
rest of you having slow sales or no sales?

My sales have been slow for about 5 days now. Some of that was due to the 24+ hours that Marketplace was down. The rest may be due to market uncertainty and I expect it should be all right again soon.
I am almost completely pulled out of Amazon Auctions. Today I have only 70 open auctions. Should be down to about 10-20 within the month. I'm still trying to decide if it is worth it to run 10 $1 auctions per month in order to keep the Auction Pro designation.

I finally got a couple of sales today, although on one I haven't received the Ship Now email yet. I always get nervous when those don't show up within an hours or so... I've only had one that never came though.

I believe they are still messed up. I just checked my account and I get a message that I have no open listings or none opening soon. Also the used books are disappearing again. I just checked a book and it says 6 used copies available but when you click on the link it shows none. At least my feedback is back.

Although it feels like I am doing badly, Quickbooks tells me that my sales are up 28% over last year at this time. Part of it is that it is so easy to list on Marketplace that I have more free time. I feel idle. I am listing all kinds of stuff on eBay to fill the time.

Sales are well off this month. And January is usually a very good month for me. I can only attribute it to Amazon problems. I actually wrote to them asking for a reimbursement of the Auction Pro fees since they have had so many problems this month. Their reply: You have to expect problems when using Amazon site. No refund.
I am continuing to list on HomeBase in order to get 500 books on the data base before uploading. I am developing a more professional web e-commerce site. I tried eBay again, and the fees are killers. Just can't cut it there. Amazon may have done me a big favor by making me branch out more.

Hi M. I'm glad to hear that you're developing your site, I'm sure it will work well for you. I've been checking the other sites, and so far, NBCi looks nice. They have a lot of nice features and currently no listing fee. I am also impressed with the strong add campaign that they're running, here, on the East Cost. However, all and all, I'm sure that bookstores are still the best place to sell used books and CDs.
Amazon is scaring me because my current sales slump is reminiscent of the slowdown that I had when they removed the auction tab and made their improvements. I always kept a small catalogue, but last September, and then in horrible October, I went from around 6 sales a day to about 10 sales per month. It was horrible! Black October inspired me to open my own website and that helped.
Fees and all, Yahoo also seems like something I'll have to consider. I do wish that Yahoo offered a Pro-Merchant account. I'll probably submit a suggestion to them because at least they seem to listen to their sellers.

Not only have sales been off this week, but the turnaround time for Amazon to send the One Click monies is growing longer...and longer. I move money over every day, faithfully, at the same time in the afternoon. Hopefully this means a daily cash flow for my account. This week I received a transfer on Tuesday and today, Friday. I called yesterday about it, and I was told it was only 6 business days. I asked him to use his toes to count, as it was 8 business days. Money did come through today. With all of the problems Amazon has, I am keeping a close watch on the auctions and on the transfers of funds. I don't want to be in a bad position if it hits the fan. Right now Amazon is working with about $800 of my money.
