As of today I can no longer list my items for sale on Amazon since the deadline for 1 click payments came into effect this morning. Since I haven't been able to get 1 click registration info. in time (due to an unreasonable time length notification) my pro-merchant subscription has been terminated and my 2100+ auction items will end and not be relisted. Is there anyone out there who is as angry as I am about this? Does anyone know if you can register after this deadline? ....or maybe I shouldn't even bother registering now!

Try the following link
http://marketplace.edeal.com/
This won't help you with Amazon auctions, but the above page is a Canadian auction who is beginning to give ebay, amazon and yahoo a run for their money. Best of all--they're free except for a small final value fee when you sell something. I both use PayPal and Yahoo PayDirect the receive payments. Take a look anyway.

Hi Guitar:
Whether you agree with Amazon's position or not, you as all of us had more than enough lead time to get a US mail address and bank account set up??
Having over 2000+ auctions myself I feel for you but if you really wanted to stay why wouldn't you comply with Amazon's terms??

I received notification from Amazon at the end of January and immediately applied for the US bank account. Unfortunately, I still haven't received my banking info. from the online bank. I hold Amazon at fault for giving just 3 weeks for setting up such a complicated requiremnt and being inflexible with their conditions. So now I'll have to take my auction items elsewhere....of course Amazon auctions will shrink in size. Surely this cannot be good for business!

It took most people I know just a few days to set up the US bank accounts--online or otherwise. You should check with the bank you are using to make sure they received all the required information and signatures.
You might have missed an email form them--or it got sent astray.

Being a Canadian myself and having all of the problems with Amazon 1-Click since it first started out, I certainly understand where you are coming from. It has been a struggle to try to compete with shipping etc. I finally was able to get the information needed and set up my account before the Feb. 15 original deadline. However, I find that since 1-click started, it has been one system for those who could accept 1-Click and another for everyone else. Remember Dollar Deals, Pro Status, and of course MarketPlace. Just to name a few.

Hi Fellow Canucks,
I started with Amazon payments last summer. I'm really confused why you wouldn't do everything possible to be able to use this system.
It's the best out there and has been since it started??
I don't like most of Amazon's "improvements" any more than most sellers. None have increased my business and I have to work like heck to adapt to every one of them.
But this is old info. We've all known about this for quite awhile and if you have 2000+ listings you have to cover your butt if you want to keep 2000 listings up??
Amazon has a long way to go in its customer relationship policy. It used to be the best but now it's dismal.
but it's better than epay!

Yes, I feel sorry too about amazon and it takes a long longer to get an american address/bank if you live far from the border. On line banks ( some of which have large requirments! ) take time ie they have to send information through the mail have you sign, then return , then get your checks then talk to amazon ie I couldn't sign up even as I had applied before! Finally I gave up, though some items still sell better on amazon, and some of their ideas are good amazon has basically destroyed their own auction site which before all their improvements. was great! So , until amazon makes an attempt to improve the auction site ie a permanent tab and featured maybe a half page with auctions ending soon, I have decided to quit. Have basically returned to ebay ( and yes, prices have risen there but things do sell) and am currently trying out bidville, and epier for my lower end books where normally I might get a few dollars. Good luck guitarblues 1 and to everyone else on amazon! Suz23

I'm not happy about this too. Personally I'm not keen on having to arrange a US banking/billing address. They've made their auctions unnecessarily complicated and have virtually eliminated all Canadian sellers.
I've only sold a couple of items and was relatively new to Amazon auctions (although I primarily use the "other" auction site)but thought it would be a good opportunity to diversify my sales. When comparing the auction categories of what I primarily sell to Amazons's categories you are lucky to see bids at all. Yes the "other" site is more expensive but the sales make up for it.
Too bad. I think they've made a huge mistake with this one. Eliminate the sellers=no merchandise=fewer buyers....

What do you guys think of this?
I ordered a video from an Amazon seller, he charged me $4.50 for shipping... but sent it bookrate for $1.30!
I mean, I wouldn't care if the shipping was cheaper or whatever... but Bookrate?!!?! That is the slowest shipping! It can take weeks to get anything...

Hey Loggia: What it costs isn't always on the stamp!
We also charge $4.50. However we pay a courrier service $2.00 per video to deliver them through customs to the USPS because Canada Post can take 4+ weeks to ship a video to you people which of course would be complained about!! We now have some packages delivered within a week or two which is amazing for Canada as it can take longer for postal service within our own country!
And customs can randomly grab envelopes and inspect them too.
So perhaps you should think about the efforts of sellers to please their customers instead of focusing on the stamp??
I know several US sellers that charge as much for S&H without having to go through what us Canucks to do try and offer good service!!

I also send packages over the border to mail---I'm the one that goes over the border--but I have to pay a border fee to do so and it is a 2 hour trip when I go.

Well, I can't find out any USA bank that will open a bank account for a non-resident with a small amount of money, certainly not without a current passport.
Please will your people who say it's easy and we should have done it ages ago kindly tell us HOW!!
I am in United Kingdom and very disappointed by Amazon's ridiculous behaviour in making it very difficult for good past sellers from outside the Bush Empire first on z-shops and now Bibliofind

Not too sure, but I"ve gotten checks from overseas customers drawn upon Chase Bank here in the US. Give them a try.

IT IS NOT EASY AT ALL! I wish that amazon would allow a deposit into other countries bank accounts like billpoint and paypal. If those two loose cannon outfits can do it why not Amazon!
I signed up on line with TD Waterhouse ( which would be www.td waterhouse.com or something like that ~ only took 7 min and then a wait for 2 weeks to get the forms in the mail, then I had to sign and return to them ( they had to have a signed signature) . I phoned 4 weeks after that and guess what ~ they had no trace that I had even signed up for an account! I just haven't gotten around to doing it all over again. Good luck ( I still think that amazon books sell ( romance) and z shops overall sell better than other sites that I have tried. suz23 here only

Just another thought! td waterhouse is a canadian bank that is operated out of the us. So maybe in Britain there is a bank that you can go through that is located in Britain that is operating in the us. then you would just open an account in Britain and write cheques to yourself. At least that is what TD ( Toronto Dominion bank) does with its TD Waterhouse bank which is in the U.S. but its parent company bank is of course located in Toronto, ontario, CANADA! hope this helps a little but it does take a long time if you don't live near the border and of course in Britain you don't live too close.
