I saw this on the net today. It's a story about Amazon cutting a deal with Walmart?

Could this help?

Anything that would bring more traffic and purchases to Amazon should help Amazon. Amazon needs a shot in the arm after making deals with companies that failed: eToys and Pets.com

Unfortunately that may not be so good for us small auction and zShops sellers. If Amazon does not return the Auctions and zShops tabs above the fold on the home page then anything Amazon does to bolster its business the worse it'll be for us.

Amazon's ablitliy to stay afloat is a must if small sellers are going to continue to have that venue to sell our wares. But, sales are very slow in zShops and Auctions and that must be improved too.

I noticed that under Books there is now a category Rare and Collectible or something like that and when you click on it , it has a tab I believe for z shops! At least it is more exposure for z shops ( auctions gets a mention on this rare tab) I agree though that it would be so so nice to have an auction tab. I haven't yet signed up for a us account but am thinking about it if there is more exposure even for z shops!

Well my gut feeling is that auctions are on wobbly legs at Amazon. If they just drop them then it could affect their stock. Also, for most categories in Books, music, and videos, Marketplace doesn't cover enough titles.

It's going to be a wild summer!

my hopes are very high in regards to amazon.com auctions.

because of a non-disclosure agreement that I have with Amazon I am not permitted to reveal any specific plans.

but, I am able to say that I have high hopes that there will be some improvement with auctions. and, that auctions have a great potential of being profitable before the end of the year.

amazon has invested a great deal of resources in auctions and zshops and have some great features. amazon has great traffic and if directed more toward auctions and zhops those venues could be great.

I reserve the right to change my mind at any time.

Wow! this sounds like interesting news, pcalton. I loved amazon auctions a year and a half ago. but have switched to doing auctions at ebay as the traffic had died and
the only bidders I was getting was by emailing my previous buyers!. I love the auction format~ I guess I like to take my chances but its no fun if you can't sell! I guess I will definately look into going back to amazon by getting set up with a us bank account and jump through hoops. Personally all I would need would be a permanent tab. Even with featured listings etc when there was a permanent tab , my auctions did o.k.! Thanks for the info though of course no information was really supplied but I would love to see amazon get its act together towards auctions~ what an easy way to make a bundle ie look at ebay and of course amazon has a good strong customer base ( in spite of its problems, the book sector itself, I believe has made money , the toy sector etc I am sure has been a money loser) I will watch these board and amazon a little more closely in the next few months. Thanks again Pcalton~ even if nothing happens, it is encouraging to see others that believe in amazon auctions ( and of course z shops. ! I went back into amazon and what it is ~is rare and used books tap under the main tab BOOKS and this opens up into categories and this when you click on goes to z shops ~ sounds confusing but you only have to do it twice and you are in to z shops each time and customers can find it easy enough! if they are interested in books. auctions is mentioned under the categories listing but way way down. suz23 here!
