Hi all,

This morning I received a notification email from Amazon MarketPlace stating that I sold one of my books but I shouldn't do anything yet until the next email arrives with all the info - well, 7 hours have passed and I'm still waiting for that 2nd email! I checked my listings and that particular book is still listed as being available. Do you think this means the buyer did not get approval to purchase the book? If that is the case, shouldn't Amazon have let me know that? Or do you think I should wait a bit longer? Has this happened to any of you?

Amazon should do a lot of things that they don't.

It is likely that the buyers payment was not accepted. You may go into your Amazon Payments account and see if the payment has gone through. Otherwise, I would not ship the book or assume you have sold the book unless you can determine payment has been made.

It often takes longer than it should for a sold item to disappear off the listings.

If you clicked on 'Buy Now' it would come up with a message that it appears to have been recently sold

This happens to me fairly often. Usually, there is a 1-2 day delay between the first notification and the second one on these types of transactions. I wonder if these are people who won't put their credit cards on-line and either phone or fax their credit card numbers in? I don't know. But in any case, sit tight, and you should get the second Sold! email. Amazon says if you don't hear from them in 72 hours, you should feel free to go ahead and relist the item.

Thanks pcalton, zazzie and birdwatcher,

You were right, I received the 2nd email 24 hours later, I guess I was being kind of impatient.

I also have had such long[sometimes days] delays. Oh, well, from what I've read on the amazon sucks sites it's total mayhem there. Too bad, it could be such a great ship. I guess capt. Bezo's has gone Bozoz.
It could be sabotage, people from halfcom, etc. being hired in there to screw things up. It sure seems that way, the mistakes have been awful stupid for a company that values it's good name.
