I can't say I've ever bought a book from Amazon. In their shipping terms they say that the delivery time is 3-7 days. For a book they charge 3.49. Is that for priority mail? I just had a customer want to cancel an order since she could get it faster buying new from Amazon. Thanks.

I have bought books from Amazon and my books arrived via book-rate (now called Media Mail) with a delivery time of about 7-10 days. Media mail has a delivery time based, in part, on location. I am in New Jersey, and I noticed that when I mail books to customers in CA, via Media mail, delivery time is around 7 days. But when I ship to NY or PA, it is about 2-3 days. So, it varies depending on destination.

hi valerie, it must depend on which warehouse your book is shipped from. I ordered a book just after Christmas that took two weeks to arrive and it was shipped via UPS ground.
I only wish it had been shipped by priority mail. I was not too happy with the delivery time.
amazon took a week to pack and ship the book before it even left amazon... very disappointing. Makes my Marketplace service look pretty darn good.

I have also got some items from Amazon delivered UPS. I remember they used to use Priority Mail exclusively. They had their special pre-printed boxes. Now I don't know.

You can specify which method you would like to use...Or you used to be able to?! I would when I ordered on the phone I remember. I always use US Priority Mail. UPS is a pain in the heiny. My last book (a week ago) took 4 days. it was shipped Priority......
