some one on this board posted that zshop killed the auction-
when amzn changed the policy and ask zshop sellers to commit themselves to a monthly fee of 39.99 and list up to 4000 items, shops leave their items there at high price or they sell mass produced resin casted items at low price, figured volume and high turnover will pay for the fee.
manyof the items on amazon be it zshop or auction are just old repeats of what you keep seeing day after day, until amazon does something to upgrade the quality of the items and preent a better image, people will just go somewhere else for better merchandise.

Shift over to Yahoo if you want, although eBay is still King Kong. I'm having a little success on Yahoo Auctions. Sold 3 out of 11 listings (collectibles) the past 10 days with Buy It Nows. The others are still running with no bids but quite a few looks. Not great, but at least there's signs of life! No reason to waste any more time waiting for Amazon to wake up from it's coma!

What really killed amazon auctions was the lack of a tab~. THat and featured auctions. Your items never sold if you didn't feature them . since the same item came up over and over on the front page of any auction page such as romance~regency~ people lost interest and without a tab ( disappeared for good this Jan~ sales went way way down. I think everyone is either selling books on marketplace or z shops. Some books still sell on amazon auctions. but if you are selling anything else besides books forget it.
I still think with just a tab and forget the featured or run the feature section like yahoo or ebay ie split screen that amazon would make a wonderful site for auctions. I had 90% success rate with great prices. I was just counting the number of auctions and my final price for the end of the month on ebay~ had to do 3 times the number of auctions to get the same amount of money that I was making on Amazon this time last year! what a waste and how stupid can Amazon be ( oh right they make 15% on marketplace and you do all the work~ guess they are not all that stupid!)
