Is anyone else having problems uploading using Amazon's Bookloader?

What kind of problems are you having? I do find that it's very slow, especially with big files, and sometimes it sits there for a long time then tells me that it didn't work.
It's frustrating.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you want to chat.

Hi Denise,

I am having a problem uploading tab files using the BookLoader. There is no reason the files should be rejected but they are. I'm going to try some other things today to see if I can figure out what is going wrong. I have recently changed software and it must be something related to that.

I am having problems too. I haven't been able to get the Book Loader to accept any of my files (in Standard Book format). I am doing it exactly the same as I have many times before. I keep getting the following error on most of the books - "Data error Internal error: The item has bad state." Never seen this before. BTW, sorry about never getting back to you regarding my conversion programs. I abandoned the project after I stopped using HomeBase. I'm back to using Access again - it's the only way I can upload the way I want to.

Hi Jason,

I am still having a problem uploading to Amazon, using the Bookloader option. I have recently switched back to BookHound. They have a new version 5.5 that is much improved and was uploading to Amazon's Marketplace and zshops with no editing required after the upload.

There must be something wrong on Amazon's end. Do you think they do this intentionally to control how many listings we are able to put up? I believe they cycle our listings on and off when they are there. So it makes sense that they might also limit our access to putting up new listings. Does it have something to do with them favoring larger sellers? Anything is possible, I've decided.

No problem on the uploader you were working on. I am using BookHound again and I think it will work fine once I get this Amazon uploading problem ironed out. BH tech support is running tests now.

Good to hear from you again.--Donny

Hi Donnie,
I think part of the problem might be due to the maintenance that was going on. I have reuploaded my file several times and it was finally accepted the 4th time around. I have been playing with BookHound a little bit as well - it seems like nice software. I find data entry rather slow on it but maybe I just need to get used to it. I would try re-uploading you file to Amazon if you haven't already.

Jason,

Have you looked at readerware.com? They have an export function to BookHound and BookHound has an import from Readerware function. Readerware will harvest ISBNs and other info from the net. Very useful and will probably speed up data entry.

Today I used BookHound to do some Global edits and some other stuff that I can't do in Homebase. This version is much better than the last one I used.

I have gotten a message from Amazon now about the bookloader upload problems. They said to load the files again.
