You might want to edit out the auction number and the email address you posted or the thread is going to be locked until those parties are invited to AuctionWatch.

Apparently Reddeer thought the same thing.

Some of you wouldn't know a SHILL bidder if I whacked you over the head with one.

Geesh.

Take a look at the sellers feedback total.

284 positives. 238 are from unique users and count toward the final rating.

And for the simpletons .... that = REPEAT CUSTOMERS

This bidder is a past customer who most likely was happy with the past merchandise & figured they can get the shipping lower by bidding on 4 items at once.

P.S. - Now go find something more productive to do with your spare time - a net cop in the making you're not!

Bid what the item is worth to you and don't worry about the shill bidders and you will not be harmed! Worry about the big things in life like How the Presidents tax cut will affect you. In my position anything less than $500 is crap and he better use th emoney to do something better than giving it to the indigent (did I spell it right) Knowing they will just spend it on Beer, VCR's and Lotto tickets!
Prepare for the worst but hope for the best!! Spuddy98

There are at least 3 other people who have multiple bids on his/her items. Make sure you turn them all in, damn multiple bidders, who needs that!!!

Using the names/ID's you gave. The bidder you mentioned is not new. A total of 89 auctions. There is absolutely no 0 bidder on any of these auctions. You might want to be sure and have your facts straight before inferring something is wrong.

Whoa. Shouldn't you know what you are talking about before making such a blanket statement like that? That is SO typical.

FYI - The person he reffered to as a SHILL, was the high bidder on the majority of the auctions he/she bid on. I can't imagine a seller using a shill to drive up his FVF's.

This is exactly the kinda lame crap I can't stand about some of these do gooders.

It's getting to the point that I cringe every time I see a (0) feedback bidder that just registered running up the bidding on one of my items.

God forbid a do gooder comes running over here shouting SHILL. Or worse, emails the other bidders on my auction.

Get a life.

Hello PatchieDog,

I think that your suspicions are not well founded. If you look at all of the current auctions by that seller you will notice that there are other users holding high bids on more than one of the seller's items.

Does that mean they are also part of this shill operation?

Indeed, if you look at the current high bids of the items that these users (including your suspected shill) have placed you will see amounts of:

$4.25
$3.00
$3.75
$1.99
$2.01
$0.99
$2.25
$0.99
$10.00

These amounts are hardly what a shill operation would be aiming for.

I could do a more extensive analysis of the interactions between these users and the seller (and equally as important between the users) but I don't see the point.

It is beyond credibility to think that anyone would shill an auction just to drive the price up to amounts as small as these.

And here I am, working on my listings in order to encourage bidders to bid on multiple items. What was I thinking?

Isn't it an interesting coincidence that the buyer & seller have the same ISP & are in the same state have & similar things entered in the "location" spot on their auctions currently listed? Both list thru eBay & have the eBay free counters at the end of their plain text auctions. Maybe it doesn't look like a typical shill operation, but it strikes me as "fishy"...
