Try running Windows Troubleshooting. Run Help from the Start Menu, click the Index tab, type in "Troubleshooting" and then scroll down to "printers" and click on it. Good luck.

I "upgraded" (with Windoze, that term might be an Oxymoron?) to IE 5.50 and, as far as I can tell, nothing changed!
This might be a useless bit of advice, but I have TWO printers connected to my MooCow PC: when things get whacky I do the following:
My Computer >> Printers >> The Printer I'm worried about >> THEN R-CLICK on that printer & doublecheck to see if it is set as DEFAULT PRINTER!
You can also check the printer properties this way! Probably didn't help much, but hey, I TRIED!

I get an internet newsletter and according to what I read about a month ago, there are numerous bugs with 5.5. I have not upgraded because of this. When you go to print, hit the button at the top to select your printer, even though you want the one already shown in the box. Good Luck!
Yes I upgraded to IE 5.5 and thats when the problems started.
The problems are not with the printer, I can print from off-line programs just fine.
I'm not getting any error messages, I get "blank" pages, except it does print page numbers, the date, and "file://windows\TEMP\....htm" (the ... is always something different like "triJKPMD"
I have Windows 98.
Yes rarriffle there are bugs with 5.5! I wish I had known that!!

Did you install IE5.5 over IE5.0 or IE5.01? If so, you can go back to the previous version in Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs. Scroll down to Microsoft Internet Explorer and Internet Tools and select it. Click the Add/Remove button. Select Restore previous Windows configuration from the menu. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Something like this happened to me. Seems like I had to completely reinstall my printer driver as the install process changed something so the computer didnt recogn. the printer driver. It was there as I tried to print and make sure my printer was selected. So maybe try this. Delete your current driver and then reinstall it as if you just bought it. It worked for me.....hope it does for you also!!!

haha Good luck I have been haveing all kinds of trouble with computers here I at frist thought it has to do with my up grade to the New IE browser and email program but I lease my computers and I sent that one out for repair the loaner I am now useing doesnt have the new browsers and this one is haunted I was just here a few second ago reading a thread and this is not the frist time it happened the computer went into shut down mode and shut down and the processor turned it self off
The browser will not run a java chat programs I have use millions of times in the past.
twice the computer shut it self down and rebooted on its own only to say windows has detected register conflicts or some such thing and will reboot to repair.
I have even restored the HD with quick fix restored to store like new configuration only to have it run 30 mins fine and have the same trouble.
when I tryed to install the printer driver the computer freaked out and crashed when it rebooted all the setting for the monitor were set to gaint size and I had to reset them this is the second computer with the same trouble I at frist though virus but I have macfee with updated dat files and it could find nothing in either computer.
coincidentaly the mysterius reboots Alway seem to happen when I am here in the message board or in the auction manager when im in the middle of listing new ads.
I am begining to wonder if there is someone some how nukeing users who are not behind a firewall cause I have also many time received the windows blue screen of death so familar from my days on IRC from being nuked.
I did get the printer to work and print what I want it to but after it prints the print managerlocks up the computer and I have to reboot.
this loaner I have is a pent II 300MHZ with 64 megs of ram and I dont think the browser is useing up all the memmory to cause it to slow or freezr to a stop
