Some time ago, I made one of my rare purchases on ebay, an electronic item which was almost $1,000.

Within minutes of the auction end, I emailed the seller my name & address so he could figure shipping.

He got back w/me within a day w/the shipping (which I might add, was 1/3 the price similar sellers had been asking..and this was for insured UPS & was the exact shipping).

I sent the money via PayPal the same day & 4 days after the auction ended, my item was delivered. I waited a day to make sure everything functioned correctly, then emailed him to say it had arrived safely & thanked him for the professional nature of his handling of the sale & left him quite glowing feedback. All this w/in 5 days of the end of the auction.

Recently I noticed he never left me feedback. I checked & he's left feedback (albeit, the same "successful transaction, thank you" for everyone) for all the other people who bought around the same time as I did.

I did snipe the auction, mainly because I almost forgot about it (NO..I HATE that damn WATCH function & won't use it) but I put in a high bid & paid around the same average price he's been getting for this item in his other sales.

Now I don't NEED the feedback, my rating is fine & growing daily, but I'm really curious as to why he never left it for me.

As a buyer, I'm not sure what else I could have done to make this transaction go smoother so I'm a bit mystified why I didn't get ANY feedback. I've been toying with the idea of writing & asking but wondered if this would be appropriate or should I just forget the whole thing?

Opinions (even snide ones) appreciated.

Eventer I'd assume that he just overlooked it and wouldn't hesitate to write him a short note asking if he would take a minute to leave feedback. He'd be a fool not to - especially if he expects to build a loyal base of repeat customers. Good luck!

I agree with my bidness. A short note wouldn't hurt. I've missed leaving feedback for a buyer because eBay's feedback mechanism doesn't always work. I leave all feedback when I ship. Sometimes one of the 10 to 15 feebacks won't register. Then I have to make note to go back later to try again to leave feedback. That could be the case here.

That's another good reason to check the Feedback Forum at least once a month!
