Here's a lame question for you. What's the best way to ship from northern California to Canada? Also, are there any booby trap little problems I should watch out for with international shipping?

It depends a lot on what you are shipping. I believe stockticker was looking at posting some tips for international trade, but until then, just a couple of points:

DO NOT tick off "gift" on the customs form, even if your buyer asks you to. This is a request made by some buyers to avoid paying taxes. I hate paying these taxes as do most of us, but I would rather pay them than have the item delayed while customs investigates.

Indicate the actual value of the item (selling price) only on the customs form (i.e. don't include the shipping - we have to pay tax on that).

DO NOT use UPS - they hammer us with graft (cleverly called 'brokerage fees') when we take delivery
