A couple weeks ago in another thread I mentioned in my listings I sometimes offer a discount on shipping for paying with PayPal. Sometimes half price, sometimes a flat amount off.
Someone here replied that this practice is against eBay policy and my auctions could be pulled, etc. It only made a little sense to me so I wrote eBay and asked their position. Here's their response:
"I understand your desire to use Paypal. I know a lot of members have
found it to be a convenient service. According to our present listing
policies it is permitted to offer less shipping to bidders that pay
through a third party payment acceptance service."

I used to offer free shipping if they signed up for PayPal. At the time, I had no idea I was doing something that might have been considered wrong.

Are there any reasons why one cannot reduce shipping?
"shipping reduced $50.00 for all ladies willing to accept personal delivery over dinner, except those whose names end in 'i', because all the women I ever knew whose names end in 'i' turned out to be men in drag".
