eBay is celebrating its 5 year anniversary! eBay's created a nifty birthday page, complete with timeline. Of note: It calls Meg a "former snack bar cook" (implying, I suppose, that she comes from a working class background), and it claims that eBay Motors launched in October, 1999. I can't speak to the snack bar cook thing (but I'm wondering if when someone ordered a Burger, fries, and coke, whether she offered to include napkins for an extra 25 cents); but I do know that eBay Motors launched in April 2000, some 6 months later than claimed in the piece.

magazine_guy: You only just learn that NOW???? I've read about that in dozens of news stories. Again and again, for years.
And I don't think it's fair to conclude that ANYBODY at eBay is trying to impress ANYTHING on anybody's mind about Meg being a short order cook in Wyoming during summers while attending Princeton, (where, if you haven't read that at least a hundred times, she received her B.A. in economics.)
