Well I am getting more and more international sales and I never ship UPS or
FEDEX for the reason's already stated.

Thanks Ebay for making it a lot simpler for International bidders to keep on buying.I say bring them on.

Just need you to up that maximum above 200 would be even better still.

Hurrah

THANKS to BidPay for making it possible for me to avoid Shrillpoint LIKE THE PLAGUE it is!

PLEASE PayPal: go INTERNATIONAL ASAP and DRIVE THE LAST NAIL INTO THE COFFIN for Shrillpoint!

Any more news about Paypal going interntional? I'm tired of paying 9% to the guys at ccnow.
We keep getting told that it will happen this year but it's September already!
Paypaldamon about?

Adrian,

I agree...it's really been great & for a lot less than places like CCNow charge.

When PayPal offers international, I'll offer that too.

Why are people so negative about something associated with ebaY that helps us in the long run.

I have ran thousands of dollars through billpoint and as of this point paid very little in commission to them.

Its still a lot cheaper than having your own merchant account.

PHRLAP.

Why not use Billpoint its a whole cheaper than 9% and its available right know.

tomwiii.

Anything that adds an additional charge to me the buyer I will pass thank you.I used them a few weeks ago for a payment to Australia cost me 15.00.

If I had known that I would have passed on the auction.

The key in any business is make it as easy as possible for the buyer to pay for the item and Billpoint works.

I do use and like Paypal but they will in the not too distant future require those like me who run thousands a month through them to sign up for a merchant account.

With Billpoint around at least I have a choice and they keep each other at bay.

I just do not understand why people are so negative about services that are associated with ebaY.

If it was not for ebaY,I would be working all kinds of hours sales but instead I sit at home all day and list and sell items all over the world.

My kid has access to me 24 hrs a day other than when in school as does my wife.

So thank you ebaY and I hope Billpoint makes you lots of money as the more money ebaY makes the longer I can do this.

imabrit,
I would LOVE to use Billpoint - however I don't believe it is available to sellers outside the US. Please correct me if I'm wrong (and I hope I am) and I'll sign up straight away!

Good points!

My reply as to why I hate Shrillpoint but like (not love yet) eBay:

1) I can't AFFORD Shrillpoint! PayPal is FREE or, if ya have the Premier account then it is VERY CHEAP!

2) The manner in which eBay "suggested" (it felt more like CRAMMED DOWN THE THROATS!) Shrillpoint as an option for sellers left an extreme bad feeling with me!

3) The harassment of PayPal over logos, etc -- it all seems really PETTY of eBay!

So, I accept checks or money orders or PayPal or BidPay or cash or monkey porn...
BUT NOT SHRILLPOINT!

BillPoint has allowed Canadian sellers to sign up and has been great for us. I've recalculated my starting prices to adjust for the small fee they charge. Buyers have been very happy that we have it now.

Too bad PayPal has gone international yet. I have the feeling that they've dropped the ball on this one. Ebay will get BillPoint entrenched outside of the USA before PayPal gets going and we'll all be using it.

Billpoint is definitely a great option.

I recently signed up for BillPoint after an Australian bidder asked me if I would. She wanted to bid on several of my auctions, so I agreed to sign up if she won. It worked out for us both...and now I get that extra little icon thingy on my auctions, too

I don't get a lot of International sales, but those that I do get are extra appreciative, it seems!

In principle I do not like them, but I use them. Maybe 1 in 20 sales, and nothing significant. I want more people to start using E-Check.

Adrian, have you found anything on Samuel Sewall yet? Heather

Good luck, does that to me also. Keep me in mind if you find anything, make sure to email me as I do not check ebay often for those type things. Heather

and then adrian observes:

This has been going on for YEARS Adrian, and when you mention that it is confusing to you to notice the hyper-degree of hostile maliciousness towards anything eBay "born and bred", all I can say is that plenty of people share your perplexity about this.

radh.

Where do you stand on this are you hostile towards anything ebaY does like Billpoint ?.

Interested in what you think.

I realise it has been around for years but if I was not happy with a place of work I would leave and not continue to be-moan the place.

Great glad to hear it too.
Do you forsee in the not too distant future individuals like myself who run a few thousand a month through paypal having to convert to your upgraded account that incurrs fees?

Are there any fees involved with the international transactions or is MUM's the word on that right know.

This will be an important step for the holiday season for those of us who handle international transactions.

thanks Adrian

Hi imabrit,

Our terms of use have always stated that users using us for ecommerce purposes need to classify as a business/premier account. This is so that we can keep the service free for the personal accounts (which tend to be your buyers). The business and premier accounts also have features that can help you increase your sales, thereby off-setting the costs associated with it (and future developments will continue to support small businesses, auction sellers and people selling off of the web site).

Processing credit cards is expensive and the costs we ask on the fee-bearing accounts is cost. We are not marking up the credit card transaction fees.

I don't have a fee stucture for international at this time, but any international transaction will incur fees because of the cost aspect.
