I received an email this afternoon from the high bidder on one of my auctions; the auction ended last Sunday and the EOA notice went out just after auction close.
"Hello,
You may not be aware of it, but the email we recently received from you contained the KAK worm virus. We have blocked your email address and will be unable to respond to any future emails from you until you have satisfactorily cleaned your computer and notified us that the virus is no longer a threat."
I find this rather amusing. Until I have "satisfactorily" cleaned my computer? And how, pray tell, am I to notify them if they have blocked my email address?
Infinite inventiveness... and all this over a $5.00 sale.

PS - Of course I have checked out the accusation. In addition to having installed the Microsoft security patch several months ago, I refuse to use Outlook mail program, have a method to preview emails on the ISP's server prior to downloading (and can delete any with attachments off the server before it ever gets to my machine), and have current antivirus software running at all times. There is no hta file on my hard drive, and the system registry has not been recently tampered with. I also sent a test message to a friend who agreed to be a guinea pig. My email is clean.

Use a web based email address to email them.
They may have your main email blocked, and I do mean "may", but even if they do, it won't block you writing from a different address.

Maybe they were mistaken in assuming that your email had the KAK worm? I got the worm a couple of months ago, and thought that it came from someone else, but upon further investigation, it actually came from an email I had received a couple of days prior to finding the virus. Maybe you should email them from a different email account and let them know that your's is 100% safe, and has been. Then see what they say...

That Is Inventive! Hope that don't spread that around. I actually got the KAK.worm from my Deadbeat! He suddenly e-mailed several times when couldn't even get him to respond to request the week before. HMMMM?
If you are not aware you can actually find it by going to Properties, Details then Source in your E-mail.
I actually had another sent to me last eve by a seller. I promptly e-mailed him. I hope he didn't take it the wrong way but better than spreading it.

I've received that damn Kak 3 times in the past month! Luckily I use Win NT, so there's little effect and I'm getting real good at getting rid of it. Twice from a bidder (not a deadbeat though) and yesterday it was attached to spam.
