I am looking for an auction listing program that will allow me to: 1) Schedule an auction to begin at the time I want it to begin and 2) Allow the use of multiple photos.

I've tried Mister Lister and I don't like the way everything needs to be in the same category. I need a program that allows you to select the category with each item.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Isn't that what Auctionwatch.com is doing? I am personally launching all my auctions through them and are very satisfied.

Try auctionwatch. You can download a their auction manager pro for really cool screens, etc.

I've used both Mister Lister and Auction Watch (for Yahoo). I'd be interested in a reliable lister to replace Mister Lister--I don't mind paying for a good one. Just some names of good ones that prove dependable.

Mister Lister's main problem is that it sucks up resources like a sponge. It causes my computer to be unstable and I typically reboot after using it. My only complaint against AuctionWatch's lister is that it marks every auction with the name and I don't really need to link to this site.

I use Auction Assistant Pro (AAPro)from Blackthornsw for eBay. It is now owned by eBay. It's an expensive program, but you can try it for thirty days free.

They have a cheaper one named Auction Assistant Classic. If you don't run alot of auctions this may be the way to go for you, and you can always upgrade. You can also try this one for thirty days free.

AAPro just has more bells and whistles.

I use AMPro for Yahoo. I am pleased with both.

Well I have had some interesting experiences this weekend looking at different programs. One wouldn't install, another was buggy, a third had no lister included(it was in for overhaul). I'm using AM for the moment.

I discussed Mister Lister with a programmer colleague. He said that the problems I was having are likely due to a wayward DLL that goes on after the job is done and messes up the computer. Essentially it's like inviting a rock and roll band to play, but they won't stop until they trash the place and set it on fire. Plain bad programming.

I'm considering hacking my own lister. The only thing a lister has to do is put very basic data into a coded format similar to HTML that is just emailed to eBay. I've coded much more complex stuff.

I'm amazed that a reliable lister is beyond the capability of someone as large as eBay and that most of the others I looked at weren't so hot either. What were these guys thinking?

MisterLister does NOT require you to have all the items in the same category. By DEFAULT, it keeps whatever category you last used, and it is most efficient to list all things for one cat, then switch.

BUT ... you can change the category with that dropdown list, or by entering the number if you know it, any time you want. I listed things in 3 categories in one batch, no problems.

I use Andale' and love it and their service. Love that I can use it from anywhere in the world as it is netbased. They charge 3% of final value of auction, and give a credit and free trial. www.andale.com Multiple pics are no problem, and listing can be scheduled whenever you want.

Is the AW lister that you download worth it? I have been just using the internet based Auction Manager. Do you get many more features with the downloadable version? Different templates etc.? My problem with them is that me and several other have asked and asked that they add Billpoint Instant Purchase and the E-Check option, how hard is that to do? I looked at that Epigroove AID and it looks really cool so I may switch to that. Did not like Mister Lister and do not want to use Blackthorne. Heather

I haven't used the dowloaded program enough to use all the features. It does allow Billpoint but their does not appear to be an E check feature. I have to look more at the templates, I prefer something a bit simpler than what they default to.

I am probably going to use Access to cobble a simple lister. It certainly is easy enough.

Hi there!

I've been using the AW Auction Manager Pro for everything from making my listings to launching them. The feature that allows for scheduled launches is really good. Even if sometimes it misses the mark by a few minutes it's still excellent. The templates that are incorporated with it are nice and clean and the image organization is exactly what I need. I tried Auction Amigo and it's a little too cumbersome. I might use it for post sale if I start listing in the thousands but so far I've not needed to automate my post sale duties. I've been trying out a few others that I've dl'd from here and there and I've not found anything that I'm as comfortable with as the AW product.
btw, I'll gladly accept promotional fees from the AW staff

I've not come close to seeing or trying out every product but of the ones I've used, the AW product is the one I end up using.

Auction Assistant Pro allows you to set times for auction launches. I'm finding the learning curve pretty steep, though.

You can find a pretty comprehensive list of auction software, and web-based auction management systems, on OAUA's links page here:

http://www.auctionusers.org/links.shtml

And there was a thread discussing web-based systems just a couple days ago:
