Hi all,

I am considering the purchase of the blackthorne software to manage my auctions, I was wondering if anyone has it,and can tell me how user friendly it is. I am listing about fifty auctions every other week, and my current system is very time consuming,,,,any input would be appreciated...

Hi, Jenn! We use Blackthorne and have been very pleased with it. My husband actually does most of the computer work, but I can manage it pretty well when I have to, as nearly-computer-illiterate as I am.

My one beef with it is that it now only supports ebaY auctions. When we orginally purchased it, it supported other auction sites. Then, clever ebaY bought the company and put an end to that. In fact, I would probably already be listing at other sites in support of the Million Auction March (which we plan to do), but we've gotten a bit spoiled with Auction Assistant, so we're going to have to find/learn another software system or just list the "old-fashioned" way.

Good luck!

Pamela

I've used it for about a year. Meet all my needs and I'm not even using all the features of the lower cost "Classic" edition.

The very best of the package, IMO, is the attitude, commitment and support provided by the developer.

It is complete and efficient but not quick. Recently purchased by eBay. Will not be adapted for other auction sites.

Given my experience, I would purchase it again but I am now looking for additional s/w to provide multi-site bulk listing and will use AA for higher priced unique items.

yes, i have heard that a.a., will not support other sites, this is ok with me, i like EBAY, and intend to stay primaraly with them, my other auction forays revolve arount specialty items and usualy require a bit of time and patience, setting up those auctions, due to the specifics....

I've been using Auction Assistant for about 2 years and Auction Assistant Pro since it came out last year. LOVE IT!

Be prepared to spend a couple of hours getting the feel for it and exploring all it does, but once you get comfortable with it I think you'll be pleased. I run 100+ auctions per week. It keeps track of everything from start to finish.

AUNTIESISSY - I have the same issue with listing on other sites.

I presently "build" listings in AA and then usually list on eBay. When the item does not sell or I want to post on YAHOO first, I cut and paste.

I don't use a variety of backgrounds, nor do I email upon receiving payment or shipping. I just ship and leave feedback. My accounting is done off-line.

Not worth moving up to the PRO version for me as I want multi-site bulk listing.

The build in AA and cut/paste to YAHOO is convienent as it does not have to be in real time for preping pictures, writing descriptions or inserting standard paragraphs but there is no using fancy backgrounds.

I've done the same with AA Pro, I've copied and pasted and put them on Yahoo.

Oh and yes its good auction software too for ebay. It might be quicker if used with Mr. Lister, I don't, never tried. I can sit there and make a bunch of auctions and leave them in 'draft mode' until I'm ready or have enough I want to upload to ebay. And I can get end of auction notices out faster, once they are over. And it has a lot of other features that I haven't even tried out yet.

Hi. I use it, it's great. I got it in July. They let you use it for 30 days as a free trial. My favorite thing is the FTP for your images. Just make sure you have somewhere to put the images that works with the FTP, look at the Blackthorne website for this info. I have the Classic edition.
