I brought the idea up!

I'll take the PR job, and all I would want would be 75k a year, 1% of profit and a company vehicle (preferably a Ford 3/4 ton 4x4 crew cab pick-m-up-truck.) I'll need a gas and entertainment allowance by the way.

Let's cut to the chase on the name.

"We're Not eBay" Auctions.

I'll put a hundred up. That's listings AND dollars.

I'll put up 10 listings (can't even find 100 items around here to sell) AND 100 dollars.

Ummm ---Kel gets Michelle to actually comment without a warning or suspension. Good buddies? Just a comment--not a sorta paranoid kind of high school clique kind of mentality. No actually--it's nice to see our moderators acutally being human and responding to a thread--not the heavy handed molls that they are paid for. BTW,, what is wrong with lettuce?

Sign me up for 200 auctions a week. I would LOVE to see this idea come to fruition!

Hi Selecto--maybe 20 tops? But it's so much fun to speak to diverse sybils. One never knows who is who--and the bottom line-when push comes to shove--we finally see some wonderful posters share extremely important information regarding on line and internet auction info. Something I aspire to. Give me a couple more years

jeanyu - nothing wrong with lettuce. Just more appropriate to eat it at the Table, that's all . And kitsch1, in her generosity, pays my fare to CA each week too

Contrary to what some posters may believe, the Moderators do have a sense of humor. Of course, we can't always find it....

Okay - I'm ready to bid. Where's the goodies? I want to see the items I know I just can't live without!!!

Imabrit - I like the OneMansJunk....
'cause it's so true....about being another's treasure.

Kel....maybe you'd consider taking a % of the sales rather, to begin with, rather than that lovely dream
salary?

Glad I looked in this morning.

kitsch1: Would you have our home phone & address available to every
Tom, Dick & telemarketer who wants it? As chief honcho I would expect you
to give out yours & Michelles !!!!!!!!

I have wondered why AW hasn't thought about it. Or maybe they already have?

I am...
LabRat, part of Ebay experimentation too!

labrat,

I'm glad you asked that question. No, I would not make your private info available. What I would do tho is hire an outside firm to verify ph numbers of every new member. Upon registering to bid or sell there would be a notice to expect a phone call before registration process could be completed. Sure it would cost AWAuctions a bit, but in the long run it would be well worth it for the sense of security it would bring the community.

I like the idea, particularly if the site focused on the small seller working from home - the original eBay target market.
