Today I found an auction where the seller didn't sell anything (clue). It sold for less than 15 cents. The auction ended this afternoon and he has already left the bidder positive feedback (same auction #) claiming that payment arrived in 2 days. Maybe this an easy way to gain feedback points or maybe the seller is just having fun? His "me" page is quite offensive and the feedback he has left for others is really disgusting. Either they did not complain to ebay or else ebay refused to remove it.
Edited for clarity.

Sounds interesting.
Can you please e-mail me the seller's id? (if this isn't against the CG)

I have just done further research and I see that many others sell this same item, sometimes on a private auction and also at times to bidders with private feedback. This item sells for as low as one cent.

Thanks for the info Shaani.
You would think that the sellers he left that awful feedback for would have asked Ebay to remove it. Can you imagine if you saw that person bidding on one of your auctions? What a nightmare!
I found a similar auction with a starting price of $35.00. Do they really think people are so stupid.

Folks

There is nothing I can do about private email correspondence between Users but please be aware that if identifying info is posted I have to either delete it or lock the thread until the CGs are followed.

I've deleted this time, next time I'll have to get out the key

I was quick enough and did a search for the items in question... there are quite a few. Some interesting tactics (ads) and some I believe are just being "playful and daring". Oh well, to each his/her own!!!!

Since there are so many of these items for sale on ebay and lots that have sold for under 15 cents I really don't see why it would be wrong to say what it is.

Moderator?

Can I say what it is or do I just say "nothing"?

Shaani

I think saying "nothing" is probably a good idea . Once you identify a specific Seller or auction, the CGs require them to be invited. Saying "nothing" makes sense to me...

If there are multiple sellers listing this item, saying what it is couldn't possibly identify any specific seller ....

Thanks shanni, for sending the item #. What a bizarre eBay ad! The guy actually says if you bid on his auction he will neg you. And there are bids! The feedback he left for others is disgusting. I don't understand why he is still on eBay. This is the mentality of a young teen up to no good here.

I don't think his point is to give feedback, unless you want negative feedback.

Who are the high bidders? Any pattern? Could this be a private feedback party set up to be so offensive that it would turn away all but the seller's shill bidders?

Would be interesting to know if SH has anything intelligent to say about this auction.

I did a search on the key word here, and was amazed at the auctions that came up like the one subject of discussion.

There was one that was 'legit', it was to provide advertisement for their website, although there was nothing for sale.

There were several others, too, that might have had an legit ad, but it seems like the seller went back in to cancel all the info out. Instead of just cancelling the auction, that is. Maybe they plan on going back in right away to put the real info in so they can save the listing fee.

Bizarre!
