I bought a suit at a consignment shop to resell and when I got home I noticed there was not a size tag. Based on these measurements I think it may be a size 6, mainly because the waist size on the skirt is so small, any help is much appreciated!!

Hmmm..I don't know. What I usually do is go to a clothing website such as JC Penney and compare with their sizing charts. Hope that helps.

Sounds like what you have is a mismatched set. The jacket is more like a 12 or 14 (no size 6 would wear a jacket with a 40" bust unless it was supposed to fit like a tent), and the skirt wouldn't fit a normal size 6 right because of the large hip measurment (assuming that it's a straight skirt, and not an A-line, dirndl, etc.).
Is there elastic in the waistband that would allow for expansion? That might explain the rather odd size differential between waist and hips.
You may have some trouble selling this as a suit, since you really should put the measurements in the description, and they just don't match up to any size I know about...as a set.

Hi,
If I have something without a size tag, I simply put up the measurements and mention that they need to check them as there is no tag. It does sound like a mismatched set, but I have had some of my best success with 'mismatched' sets. (sold one a size 2 top, size 8 skirt) Bodies are not always the same size top and bottom.
Be sure to mention if the skirt does have elastic or not.
I have seen size 6's with a 40" measured bust if they have a huge boxy jacket or if it is a loose fitting blouse.
Good luck to you with this one.
