And there was a cheap way to ship it,you could send it my home country Britain. They are just about out of fuel.Farmers etc have blockaded the refinery's as they are fed up with the tax they pay.Plus the price they pay for fuel.

The country could run dry within 48 hrs if it continues.

So maybe could all band together and buy some diesel fuel and make some money.

Just imagine an eBay user ID of OPEC who also offers a dutch auction of barrels of oil and fuel with delivery included....

800,000 barrels in a dutch auction format....

Almost makes me sorry I accepted the settlement and signed an agreement not to discuss the pill we developed which you could drop into your tank, add water and drive your truck all day.

Or well, at least an exwife and her boy friends are enjoying the money.

Hello Imabrit,

If you can find some reasonably priced diesel fuel please forward some to California!

We farm for a living. The increase in price for diesel fuel the last month has been awful.

We paid $1.52 a gallon in early August for off-road fuel in bulk ... yesterday the price was $1.81. It may not sound like much ... but we use from 200 to 300 gallons a day. There already isn't much profit margin, and take $60 to $90 a day off that and it doesn't leave a lot.

On-road fuel is even worse. Last week we paid $2.10 a gallon for diesel for our pick-up. The vineyard we are working at is a 45 minute drive from home. We have a contract for the work we are doing, so we can't raise our price. Ouch! Makes you wonder how come diesel costs more than gasoline at the pump? What's up with that anyway? Diesel is a lower grade by-product. We just keep hearing rumours about the east coast loading up on heating oil for the winter, which for some reason is making diesel on the west coast scarce.

I don't know the reasons ... I just know it's having a big impact on our bottom line ... which is already shakey at best.

Anyone who is sitting on a stockpile of diesel right now has a pot of gold.

I don't know how our pricing compares with Britain. Maybe I should be grateful instead of complaining ?!?

You should be grateful you have it easy.In England it runs about 6.00 a gallon and the US gallon is larger too.

The farmers are having a hard time a good number have been committing suicide because of the debt with no end in site.

They had Chernobyl when it went bad affect the sheep they had so they could not sell them. Then they have Mad Cow Disease and what with the increase in fuel costs they can hardly make any money.

For this reason they have and others too blockaded the oil refineries and they are causing major traffic jams up and down the expressway at 25 miles an hour.

They are trying to get the Government too do something about the tax on gas they pay.

My Bro says he will have to start laying people off in the next 48 hrs as most of the country will be out of gas by Thursday.

My parents told me that gas accounts for 20% of their total business expense and they are sick of it too.

So compared to Europe you have it easy.

Imabrit,
We can empathize with the hopelessness your farmers feel from losing their farms. The non-agribusiness American family farmers know all too well about being sold at auction to pay debts.
My husband and I watch the news on BBC America. We find it educational how the same news story has an American slant so different from the British slant. You'd think news was news and facts are facts, til you have a chance to see the world from another POV. We've been following the increasing tensions in Britain over the fact that (was it 2/3?) the lions share of the cost of fuel is tax.
I see that the French are starting to feel the same way about their fuel costs too.
I think there going to be some shake-up in the international political arenas.

I actually live in Florida, have been in the US since 85.

What you say about NEWS is true,International News tends to focus with International that relates to the US.This sometimes annoys me as at times it feels like that the US is the only Country that exists.

This is not a knock believe me I would sooner live here than in Europe.

As I explain this is one huge country and so I can see why International tends to get left out.As this country is the size of Europe on its own.

I often get asked by family did I see this or that on the news and I say No.Sometimes they sound very suprised as these are major international news stories that get over looked.

It should be interesting to see if any mention of the problems in England will be mentioned at all on the major news sources.

British International News is far superior to what we have here.Besides some of the Candy it is one of the few things I miss about the old country.

Oh well
