I hope someone reads this that can help me!
I printed out in May, instructions posted by Preacher4u as to how to have a personal gallery on Ebay. Finally, I have gotten around to trying it and my question is this:
When you are writing up the auction (at AWPro)..and you put the link in...should it show up hyperlinked at that point? OR do you have to wait and see if it works when you upload the auction to Ebay? I would hate to have a big "click here" that doesn't do anything!!!
Any help would be MOST APPRECIATED!!!Thanks-

You need to type in the <A href.........</A>
tags and info in listing. You will NOT see your Gallery until the next day..For whatever reason, I find it can take an average of 14 hours to show up...So, no, you will NOT see it when you preview your listing before submitting...So, make sure you have entered the HTML Preacher4 listed, properly.

rariffle A personal Gallery is a link to ALL of the Gallery Pictures you use on your listing....Clicking on the link sends the viewer to see all your Gallery Thumbprints; that way it saves them time, by deciding if what they see is worth a second look. If they decide "yes", they click on the thumprint image, and it sends tem to the actual listing page, so they casn bid to their little heart's content...

I am not listing on Ebay at the moment, but when I do, this is what I include:

<a href=http://search-desc.ebay.com/cgi-bin/texis/ebaydesc/results.html?query="rifkah+auctions"&dest=&cobrandpartner=x&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&SortOrder=[a]&srchdesc=y&category0=&category1=&category2=&category3=&textonly=n&tc=&ht=1&st=1&allebay=1&ebayregioncode=&ebaytag1=ebayreg&ebaytag1code=0&ebaycurr=&minPrice=&maxPrice=

Thanks Shosh! I can tell you know what you're doing!
I have done exactly what preacher4u said to do...and when I preview the auction, the line "click HERE to view more from this collection" (which is what I want to say- as I'm selling a collection)...
anyway, the line is in bold - but shouldn't it be underlined like a link is usually underlined? I want to be sure it will work-
I realize it will take time for my gallery pictures to show up-
I am totally inexperienced with doing links- but it would really be great in this case. I WANT to learn. I've seen some other auctions that do this and it is fantastic.

if you see an auction that has a gallery you can view the code.

I use Internet Explorer but Netscape is similar

Click on 'View' then 'source'

You will see the code that was used to create the HTML page.

The code I use is

<a href="
http://search-desc.ebay.com/cgi-bin/texis/ebaydesc/re
sults.html?query=%22INSERTCODEWORD%22&dest=&cobrandpartner=x&SortProperty=M
etaEndSort&SortOrder=&maxRecordsPerPage=&srchdesc=y&category0=&category1=&category2=&cat
egory3=&textonly=n&tc=&ht=1&st=1&minPrice=&maxPrice=&ebaytag1=&ebaytag1code=&ebaycurr=&p
sURLSaveMethod=PersonalShopperSaveSearch&userid=&pass=&psreg=&psfreq=&psdura=">
<font size=+1> Please VIEW.
</a>

Also, it will only show items that you have put in the gallery at Ebay--which costs an extra .25 when listing. No auctions will show that aren't in the Ebay gallery.

Preacher4U- I have had this print out stashed away for a long time- it's so ingenius! It was so nice of you to share it- Thanks for the original post again too.(I was hoping you'd pop in here.)
Never had the courage to try it- but this is it!! Do or die.
CDNBooks- thank you too- there IS a space between the a and href...that was bothering me.
I still have one question:::
When you write up your auction (using AW Pro--offline)...and you do everything properly, should the "click here" show up as being hyperlinked? Should it show as being underlined, (like a link) in the preview?
Or will it happen when you go online.
Is there a test to check if you did it right before you upload the auction to Ebay?
Thanks so much!

mom..I am so glad I found you...Thought I had put myself on "ignore" and could not reply...

Anyway, when you preview, you should be able to click on the link you created; it will take you to your Gallery page, but of course, at that point it will tell you THERE IS NO PICTURE IN THE GALLERY, since it takes about 14 to 24 hour for the Gallery to be created. But at least, it would show you that it IS active. If it does NOT take you to that page, stop, and review what might have gone wrong...

Now, you must repeat this HTML process EACH time you place a listing. And if I recall, this cannot be fixed, if there is a mess up.

Good luck... I will be anxious to know how it worked out. Want to Email me an auction?

[email protected]

Good luck and thanks..
