I loved Pay Pal until today but I'll go back to good old checks and money orders if things don't improve fast. I noticed three bank withdrawal requests I made that said COMPLETED hours ago now say PENDING again. I'm wondering if maybe everyone is pulling their money out of their Pay Pal accounts and Pay Pal can't handle it.

Here's one more way Pay Pal is getting you guys and I'll bet alot of you don't even know it...

When you log onto your Pay Pal accounts, click on the REFERRALS tab. Scroll to the bottom to the View your REFERRAL LOG link.

I have three referrals in my log that say PENDING, the oldest one is from August 23rd. I never got the $5.00 for these, never even got an email saying I was entitled to (pending) bonuses.

From the FAQs and Refer-a-Friend Terms of Agreement:
"When do I receive my $5 bonus?
You will receive each $5 Referral bonus after your friend COMPLETES VERIFICATION of their account. Receiving bonus rewards depends on HOW QUICKLY your friend registers for a PayPal account and completes the BONUS REQUIREMENTS"

I looked into this further and found out that the person signing up with you as a referral must now VERIFY A BANK ACCOUNT before you'll ever see your "pending" 5 bucks. Buyers have no need to give Pay Pal their bank account numbers. Most are using their credit cards to pay for auctions and note:

"Bonus Period. Confinity reserves the right to discontinue the Bonus for any reason, at any time and for any duration at its sole discretion, and without notice."

I doubt we'll ever see those promised bonuses, except on our PENDING LOGS!

Yikes! I almost requested a check from PayPal earlier this week... now I regret waiting. I suppose this will all blow over soon enough and my money won't just vanish, right?

I just posted on another thread (mostly) in support of PayPal, but I do have lingering doubts. Then again, I'm suspicious by nature.

Hi,

The withdrawals would be pending until the download occurs (if you did it yesterday, it will hit the download file for today).

Referral bonuses are awarded based upon bank account verification. Once the verification occurs, the referral bonus will appear in your account.

Hello Damon,
A $240 withdrawal I made yesterday said completed already this morning and now it says pending again.

I recently became VERIFIED at Pay Pal but I feel that option was forced upon alot of sellers because the big "UNVERIFIED" link right under our names was making honest ebay sellers look like some kind of scammers.

Buyers haven't much reason to give Pay Pal their bank account numbers. All they need is a credit card to register and pay for stuff. They don't need Pay Pal's fraud protection, since most credit card companies offer that anyway.

Pay Pal has had the advantage of an awful lot of ebay sellers advertising for them by using your links in our auctions. We helped you get your 3 million users, and now Pay Pal has begun cutting us out our promised $5.00 referral fees. That just isn't right.

Everyone,

Once again, threads concerning PayPal are dominating the eBay Outlook. I am going to lock this thread as well as several others, and ask that you confine your comments concerning PayPal to the one PayPal thread that will be left open in the eBay Outlook, or start a new thread in the Partner Services Forum.

Thanks for your cooperation.
