I just went to my PayDirect page & tried to generate a link. Unless I misunderstand it, YOU HAVE TO ENTER AN AMOUNT EACH TIME YOU WANT TO CREATE A LINK!

Is this CORRECT? Am I reading it wrong? I would like to add this option to my eBay auctions, but it looks like a giant PITA!

UPDATE I just called Yahoo Pay Direct HELP & they told me that they DO NOT YET HAVE LINKS FOR eBAY AUCTIONS! So I guess that option is on hold for a few weeks -- darn! It looks like a good program!

you can make up your own link for PayDirect, I've experimented with the system. I've learned a few things. It will send payment to the wrong address if the email is incorrect. I tried sending email to a known account and I just used .net instead of .com The email was send as if the person didn't have an account. That didn't surprise me, but what did surprise me is the email was send 18 hours after I clicked on the send button. Canceling a incorrect payment is relativly easy, I figured it out rather quick. I think the social security info request is going to scare a lot of folks away so fast that they won't even see the print saying it's optional.

I signed up for PayDirect when it was first introduced. It's got some nice features, and some quirks I'm not too keen on.

You can send an invoice through PAyDirect to anyone who has an email address, which will be a useful feature if any Ebayers want to use the service right away. Although I have not had anyone take me up on it yet, I have been saying I take PAyDirect in all my Ebay auctions. Have not been motivated yet to make my own PayDirect link as I only have about a dozen auctions running on Ebay right now anyway. It is a good idea though.

I suppose if I do keep selling on Ebay I will make my own link to PAyDirect as the HTML code required is cake. I Am currently trying to decide whether to rent a P.O. box & get voice mail & continue selling on Ebay occasionally, or whether to just sell all my stuff on Yahoo. That's a topic for another thread though.
