I've got a few auctions going that still have the Paypal logo on them, so I can't do a whole lot about it until they're over.
Selling on ebay, even the little bit I sell, will now cost more. I am ashamed that I helped lead others to Paypal, especially other sellers who are now screwed as well. If it smells like a lie, sounds like a lie and it makes me feel like I've been lied to, then it IS a lie no matter how many times Paypaldamon cuts and pastes.
Anyway, I would like to add something to my TOS's to the effect that if the buyer pays with a money order or personal check they will receive a $1.00 discount on their total owed. This way, the extra dollar I'm going to have to cough up will go to my buyers (who deserve a break), not to Paypal.
Anyone have any ideas on how to word it so that buyers will be sure to see it?
Robin

A real bad idea. You'll anger your PayPal customers. If you want to hang yourself and watch your business drop off even more than it will after you ditch PayPal, a simple buck off for check MO will do.

Actually, my sales have been pretty good.
When I first started using Paypal, about half the buyers payed with it. The past month, though, I've only had two payments paid through Paypal. I don't have regular customers because I don't sell a lot and I hardly ever sell the same type of thing twice.
I'm already signed up with Bidpay because I had an international buyer who wanted to use it.
I'll just write it in big letters in my short little TOS. "Pay with money order or personal check and get a dollar off" or something like that.

Boy, I guess it's just me...but I HATE personal checks! I wouldn't offer $1 off if someone sent me a check. Money order...yes. After a few bounced checks, $20 fees from my bank each time, no money from the bidders, I've said NO to personal checks. Sales haven't changed.
