I know feedback isn't my prime goal, and I was more than happy to sell an item twice it's value to a buyer, but what makes a buyer NEVER leave feedback? In the last 7 transactions only one buyer left feedback, and that was a repeat customer. The latest buyer I rush a shipment off to had good feedback, 144 over 2 years, no negs, no neutrals. Out of curiosity I looked at the feedback he'd left "0", 144 positive feedbacks and not one left on his part.

I guess the part that irks me the most is the odds are rather high that the buyer uses feedback when evaluating a seller. What I don't understand is after two years they've never found the time or the inclination to support a system they probably use.

As a seller I'll continue my practice of leaving feedback on receipt of payment, and as a buyer I'll leave feedback if the seller has done me right and left feedback first. I just wish some buyers weren't so apathetic. Is the task of leaving feedback too difficult?

I think some people just don't care. I recently left feedback for a buyer, even though I'd had absolutely no response from her since shipping the item. I'd even emailed an inquiry to be sure that it arrived. She was relatively new when she made her first purchase, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and left the feedback. I rechecked her feedback the other day, after one of these "who should leave feedback first, and when" discussions. She is continuing to build up a good feedback rating but still hasn't left a single feedback comment. I decided that from here on out, if a buyer can't even hit the reply key and type in "OK" to my inquiry and shows a pattern of NEVER leaving feedback, I won't feel obligated to leave any either. Perhaps if everyone adopted a policy of not leaving feedback for those users who don't actively participate in the system, those people would get the hint.

uaru,

The number of feedbacks isn't necessarily a guide to having a clue about leaving feedback.

Had a feedback show up from a pretty old transaction from a lady who had a pretty decent feedback number...seems she just figured out that responding to feedback left for her wasn't the same as leaving feedback for others. Even wrote me a quick note to explain that.

Didn't matter to me but I got the feeling, some seller to whom the feedback DID matter clued her in on the procedures.

If you think they might be clueless, send them an email telling them you are leaving feedback for them & hope they will do the same..and here's a quick link where you can leave feedback...include a clickable link directly to the "leave feedback for a user" section.

Who knows, you might do a lot of people a great service & save them some embarrassment by explaining the feedback process.

Or not.
