Well I had my remaining Waverly auctions all VeRO'ed today...from what I can tell 3 out of 5 pages of Waverly fabric, accessories, wallpaper, etc. etc....both new and used were all VeRO'ed at the same time along with mine. The remaining Waverly auctions probably will be VeRO'ed next Friday as that seems to be the day for the Waverly Police to be active. After all the posts earlier this week, and all the support, I have made 2 decisions....I know that I am absolutely in the right to sell items made from legally purchased Waverly fabric and to use pictures that I take of those items in my auctions. However, Waverly items account for a very small part of my large inventory and a small part of my eBay profits. Since Waverly seems to be on a vendetta against online auctions, right now my other decision is to let em have it....I will no longer purchase Waverly materials. I also figure that if eBay continues to support all the types of VeRO abuses I have heard about this week....they are only lowering their own profits as well. I do think that eBay should include an announcement to that effect re certain manufacturers rather than to let ignorant/naive sellers continue to post auctions, and pay fees...that is my humble opinion only.

"....I will no longer purchase Waverly materials. "

I hope you write a letter to the president of the company. It may open his eyes to the abuses of the Vero system.

Gosh, what is this? I don't get here often and miss things. Are you saying you can't sell Waverly products here? I have heard of some designer labels attempting to keep folks from selling used products of their line. I really don't know how this happens. If there is much money involved, I believe I would contact a (dare I say it) attorney. You did not 'rent' the fabric, you bought it!!!!

I was just about to recover my dining room chairs with Waverly fabric.

Now I will have to choose another fabric as it is my policy to boycott all companies that use big brother tactics to VERO auctions.

No waverly fabric here... but I will stop eating "waverly" crackers, if it helps.

Seriously, Ebay should really come up with some method of scrutinizing these VERO claims before they allow these people to end auctions. Maybe an ombudsman or something?

I imagine that sometimes people sell fake or imitation goods and this may be one reason why the people at "waverly" are doing this. Perhaps they actually see this as more of an effort to preserve their image of "quality" than as trying to corner a market and forcing people to pay full retail. They would rather close down a few legit auctions while perhaps "weeding out" an imitation item here or there.

VERO has never happened to me, before. But Ebay themselves has pulled one auction due to "infringing software item" I was selling. The item I was selling was available LEGALLY and freely on the open market and was even sold at WAL-MART! The nerve... I guess it doesn't end there. I recently relisted this item on Ebay (After months of waiting-Please don't rat me out), This time, I only said what the item was, not what it did (like I did the time before) and it SOLD!

eBay CAN NOT LEGALLY do anything except remove the reported material.

Adfter that, it's up to the VERO and the person they claim was infringing.
