that a buyer can get a cash bonus when paying a seller with a Premier (and Business?) account through Pay Pal. Tonight I paid $2.75 for an auction and received .03 cents as a cash bonus!!! Wow! This was a feature I didn't know existed! When did this start????

If I'm not mistaken, this applies only when you use the "Instant Purchase" feature. Seems that instead of giving the money to the buyer, they should discount the sellers fees.

I believe that the purpose is to encourage buyers to buy only from verified business or premier members, thus encouraging sellers to beccome verified.
I recently received a bonus when I paid for an auction purchase to a verified premier member. It was not an instant purchase, and I paid from my Paypal funds. Maybe that's the criterion - verified seller, pay from funds on file?

I found out that it works in reverse, too. I recently made a purchase through PayPal. I have a Premier account and usually carry a balance. I got a discount (1%, I think) on the price of the item, with no charge for sending the money. WAY KEWL!!!

I have never received any message to upgrade my account. I have a personal account and yesterday I paid for a book purchase that I made through ABE (Advanced Book Exchange). I had the funds in my Paypal account from an item sold on eBay.
