I tried to get in through their link on a search engine and got the message "This website is not accepting requests". Going directly I get the message "cannot find server".

I am not an alarmist but it does make me wonder.

I just tried www.x.com and got the login screen, but then I got, page could not be displayed. URL not found.

Like I said--I get the picture of the old fashioned run on the bank with the hoards knocking at the door to get their savings out of the bank, but the bank having no money a la--at the beginning of It's a Wonderful Life.

It could just be a little glitch as they are making changes so that non-business users can no longer utilize the logo for their auctions or something equally benign.

Hope they have really Deep DEEP pockets.

It's probably just a regular site outage, a la eBay.

On a related note, I notice that none of my auctions are loading properly. They stop at the description line and then fail to load. I stop the page from loading and then everything shows up except my paypal logos. Maybe the whole Paypal site is down. Anyone else having the same problem?

Well I don't know about Panic.
But knowing ful well were all over here waiting to hear something from them, they could at least keep us semi-updated as to whats going on.
Weather is updating/revising the site or what.
A little info surely couldn't hurt.
You know their watching this board, and probably laughing their a$$ off at us.

I've seen alot of tunes change since the very first post announcing this "fiasco".

I guess thats what there waiting for maybe "for the dust to seattle".

This outage with no info about it, is only stirring the dust again!

That could be annoying. I keep all counters, pictures, logos, EVERYTHING on my ISP, I hate to have my page load improperly because of PayPal, AW, Brand X, etc. is having problems or doing maintenance.

Damon will be here soon:

"Packer, your funds are in so-and-so's auctions ... Twinsoft, your funds are in so-and-so's auctions." Like Jimmy Stewart in "It's A Good Life."

Cackle. No problem. I'm used to being lied to by big Internet companies.

My auctions are hanging too on the PayPal logo. Many users won't know to hit the stop to get a listing display.

uaru:
I have always done the same thing (store on ISP) with photos, etc. because at least I can contact someone and have a little bit of clout if they aren't loading properly. With the free storage sites you can't have much clout. You must store the PayPal logo on your ISP as an image only and not link it.

Packer, you have the anti-PayPal log on your posts... and you've still got an account? Is this like the Save The Earth bumper sticker right over the tailpipe?

I got in earlier this morning, but couldn't a few minutes ago (1:45 EDT).
I was able to get into my xcom account and there was a deposit made today from PayPal.

Stupid Question: How do you "store" a counter on your ISP?

I can copy and paste the PayPal logo and include it in my auction, but it would not be a link. How do you direct the customers to PayPal, then?

And I don't understand how to put a counter on my auction without using a link from the hosting site. How do you do that?

I almost didn't use the PayPal auto link this week, changed my mind and now I'm sorry I did because of the slow down it causes in viewing the auctions.

Am I making sense? I didn't sleep well last night!

uaru,
Ummmm...thats right I still have my account open. I drained the funds Friday, but had auctions going off that still offered it. So thought I should keep it open till all that business was done.
Many in haste closed their accounts when they still had customers paying them.
I had 3 payments come in over the weekend and am expecting one this morning. I was going to mail her package with the reat of my stuff today, but now I don't know if she got through to pay or not
To tell you the truth I am also waiting to hear something from the paypal team before I proceed. But rest assure NO MORE money will sit idle in my account.

Our host is having trouble right now, thereby preventing access. Once the issues are cleared on their end, I will come back and let everyone know that the site is up.

it appears that ebay items with the PP logo button are having trouble downloading, posing a potential problem for bidders and sellers. is anyone else noticing this?
