I just had some weird experiences on eBay and am wondering what others think.
I wanted to get some accessories for my Sony Mavica digital camera, so I bid on three different items. I won the three items, all from different sellers.
The three sellers all refused to provide information or complete the sale via e-mail. They all insisted that the transactions be completed via the phone. One of the three decided that he would rather cancel the sale than complete it via e-mail and I have yet to hear from the other two.
In addition to being inconvenient to me, this has me a bit nervous and I am wondering if I am overreacting or not. Is there any legitimate reason for refusing to complete a sale via e-mail?

sorry you had that experience
from my adventures in buying and selling computer and electronics stuff on ebay and yahoo, I found there is a high percentage of deadbeats and scams in those product areas. I've had bad experiences both as buyer and seller and I can't blame some sellers for trying to establish personal contact to ensure the buyer is legitimate and that the sale will go through.

WOW I would be concerned.
You might get the odd seller for one reason or the other who feels there is less chance of getting a dead beat buyer on high priced items if they deal on the phone but 3 different sellers at the same time.

How annoying! They'd be SOL with me, I don't even HAVE a phone! Of course, I do have a headset and MSN but that's beside the point.
I once had a seller who didn't send me a total, but a "catalog" of sorts with price lists and shipping options depending on how much I bought (it was a dutch auction).. and that annoyed me too. Guess I'm just a cranky witch.
