We just don't get it. We've completed better than 30 auctions in the last 2 months (yea, low compared to many an ebay seller but it's a lot for us). All were successful from our POV: Buyer paid in a timely manner, we sent the merchandise, it was received, no complaints or returns. And we left pos feedback for all the buyers.
But we have only a fraction of the pos feedbakcs reciprocated back (i.e. only a few buyers posted pos feedback in return to us). This is in stark contrast to some of our competators who have long histories of getting pos feedback rather frequently.
We list and complete just about as many auctions as they do. We aleave leave pos feedback for a good transaction. And we ask in our EOA and shipping notices for the buyer to return in kind.

I include a link to the "leave feedback on auctions completed in the last 60 days" page (whatever you call it). Then for your customer leaving feedback is only a click away!
Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

In my opinion, it doesn't pay to leave feedback as soon as you get payment. When I used to do that, I had left over a thousand feedbacks and only received a couple hundred (if that) in return. Now I only leave feedback after it's been left for me. I've now left 4511 feedbacks and received 3442 in return.

Make it as easy as possible for the other party to leave feedback.
A link to the feedback page in your shipping notice is a great idea.
Also, be sure to let the other party know that you've left feedback. Mention in your shipping notice that you've posted positive feedback. A link to the feedback you've left for the other person might not hurt.
New people register with eBay all the time. Some have absolutely no idea what feedback is or what it's for, or how important it might be to the other person in the transaction.

I think people get busy and forget who they've left feedback for and who they haven't. I just learned this week from this board how to look at the transactions I've won for the past 60 days that I haven't left feedback for yet, and it is very convenient you can leave several at once. I think if more people knew about that, they could sit down at their convenience and go through it and get business taken care of.

Hammerchick: I can't locate the thread that explained how to look at the transactions I've won for the past 60 days that I haven't left feedback for yet.
Can you give me the title of the thread or explain how to do it.

I have gotten about 150 feedbacks in about 6oo transactions. I don't leave feedback until they do or the following month when I clearr the last months items.
