Are any of your sales slow right now, or is it just me?

My sales are in the gutter, with no clue as to why.

My husband's, my sister's and my auctions are slow. Honesty.com's images were not coming up either - for several days.

My sales stank last week but have been great this week so hang in there.

I do have one concern though and that is the international fuel crisis in Europe. The IMF feels it could cause a world wide recession if oil prices are not gotten under control.

If that hits here then we may see a major slow down on ebaY.But it could go the other way too,too expensive to go out so sit at home and bid on items on ebaY.

Positive outlook in their somewhere

I took a listing break the end of August and just started back up again this month but listing only 5-10 items a week. I noticed things are slow.

As a bidder I can say that it is no wonder. I have won 3 auctions the past two weeks. I paid all with Paypal (money I had in my account and wanted to get rid of) same day the auctions ended. I have received no feedback from the sellers, two of my items still aren't here and the one seller never acknowledged he/she received my e-mail and/or my payment. Very discouraging. Perhaps I am being picky but as a seller, I always keep my bidders informed. Maybe I am just asking too much.

No complaints here. Steady without being spectacular but still getting the odd flyer.

My sales are about average...suppose the Olympics has anything to do with it?

I think it depends on what you are selling.. I have awful book sales, but the jigsaw puzzles are flying off the shelves...Disney Lps are down, Halloween and Christmas is WAY up. For me, it all equals out to a bit above average.

Hi. FWIW - we started back up with sales listed the Thurs. before Labor Day and closing the Sunday after Labor Day [10 days] Was very very encouraged. But....the 2 7-day listing periods after that......its the pits. Our only thought on this is that it is still yard sale season in much of the Country and once the winter chill really sets in....well it could pick up then. Of course if people are having a difficult time paying for heat....well somehow our widgets will not have the importance to people that they once did.

Good luck.

Possible causes:

> Gas prices
> School is back in session
> Everyone's watching the Olympics
> Selling non-seasonal items
> Posting on this board - too busy to bid
