Is it just my imagination, or have the banners at AW gotten much more obnoxious lately? The one about Arnold is visually horrible, and the Pagoo banners are misleading at best.
Why must we have the eye candy? I know we can hit the Escape key to stop them, but the last couple of times I have done that, I have lost the post I was typing.

I realize that, but now the banners are preventing the pages from loading correctly. I am using Auction Manager, and can't get that page to load at all unless I hit the escape key. It's not refreshing right because of it.

I understand that ads pay for many "free" services, including AW, but the more annoying they got (BLINKING BLINKING BLINKING), and the more they tried to track me, the less I clicked, the more I resisted, and when DoubleClick showed its colors, I started outright blocking the companies that annoy or track.
I still click on some of the few remaining non-flashing, non-tracking ads, especially those where the ad subject is very relevant to the subject site (e.g. mapping software ads at a map data site), but that's about it now. Oh well.
Point of diminishing returns: the more some push, the more resistance accumulates.
Examples from other fora: TV advertisers are beginning to think there are so many ads per hour now that individual messages are diluted; and the DMA is recognizing that the volume and nature of spam is destroying their chances of creating "legitimate" email advertising (though the only legitimate push advertising is opt-in, IMO).
Too much is too much, either in quantity or garishness.

What's being done in the name of direct marketing nowadays is crazy.
The above are all just my opinions, except where I cite facts as such.
Oh, I am not dc9a320 anywhere except AW. Any others are not me.
Is eBay is changing from a world bazaar into a bizarre world?

yes if the people at AW are listening the banners are causeing the web pages to not load right many of the "can not load" and "server reset errors" these past few weeks are banner related
on my older IE web browser version 4 here when I get these errors your banners dont show up some times the other page info does other times it dont and a few times the browser just crashes or you get the blue screen of death forceing a reboot
these same banners on other web sights cause the same problem, at frist I thought it was this computer but over time I have noticed that everytime there is a error message it is the banners here not able to load and timeing out and crashing my computer.
I dont mind the banners at all even if they flash and blink but when im listing and I crash or get error messages due to these banners it up set me too, to says the lest it is not a pretty sight on this end
I can avoid the other sights but at this point AW holds more then a fair share of my sales info and pictures.

What the knucklehead banner programmers don't realize is that this blinking crap causes migraines and epileptic seizures. I always feel like suing when I get the attacks.
