There are auctions on ebay for expired grocery coupons. Am I missing something? Why would anyone want expired coupons?

I never knew that re:military overseas can use expired coupons. IMHO..It seems kind of "cheesy" tying to sell 'em for a profit. I have 3 friends stationed overseas. Two are married, with kids. Military salaries not being the greatest, I'll have my wife save those, and we'll mail them in our next correspondence. FREE, of course.

There is also at least ONE, maybe several states in which expiration dates on coupons do NOT apply.
I'm kinda surprised anyone can actually auction off ANY grocery coupons, as it is my understanding that FREE trading posts for same exist throughout the Internet.

Auctioning grocery coupons...well thats novel.
I wonder how coupons with "NO EXPIRATION DATE" would do on the auction block?
I have 3 of those plastic shoe boxes FULL all organized by company. General Mills, Pillsbury, Proctor & Gamble, ect. all with NED.
I use to be a refunder before I discovered the internet and where I use to live our stores offered double & triple coupon(ahh for the good ole days). I clipped and saved every coupon I could get ahold of.
Now they sit collecting dust...I lost total interest in using them. No doubling or tripling here
I guess I'll have to check it out!
