Hi,
My bidder just sent me an email that says, "Thank you Kelly,,,, Please use a stiffner and write
> DO NOT BEND on package.
This is for a cloisonne pin. It comes on a card, and I wrap it in plastic bubble wrapper before I put it in a bubble envelope.
I don't mind the email, I just am not sure what a "stiffner" is.
Any ideas?
Kelly

I believe the buyer wants to avoid any type of "smashing" to the pin. I would cut the ends off of a cardboard box, wrap the pin in bubble wrap, tape it between the two pieces of cardboard and then put the entire thing in the bubble package.
Are you shipping Priority? There are Priority boxes that are the same size as a VCR tape, and I have had good luck shipping jewelry in them. Wrapped in layers of bubble wrap first, of course!

Too funny M!
This is for 1st class shipping. I use so much bubble wrapper that it is impossible to bend my packages!

Why not humor them? They probably had stuff thrown in an envelope with nothing padding it. They are the customer.

Most of what I sell is jewelry. I put the item in a small box, well padded. Tape that shut. Put in larger box with bubble wrap around the small box. Have never had a damaged piece.

macandjan: I DO want to humor them. That is the reason for the post. I wasn't sure what the bidder meant.

Muriel, you are too funny!
The pin is of Tinkerbell. Do you think if I tape the viagra she will come out of package with a big smile on her face?
There are over 5 or 6 thousand tinkerbell pins, and My ebay id is not kellyb1, so no one should be able to id the auction!

If you tape the Viagra to Tinkerbell you may get a STIFFER problem with the law then just shipping it in cardboard. Some posts kill me. LOL

If the package gets stolen the police will have to look for a hardened criminal.

Well, if you're not sure what the buyer really meant for a 'stiffner' just attach the pin to a dildo. That way you're sure to satisfy her.
