First let me state I have very few complaints overall about eBay, but this really has my gander up!

When are they going to fix search? They admitted there was a SERIOUS problem a while ago, but nothing's been done, nor have we, the sellers, been kept up to date.

Case in point, I had an item listed for a 7 day auction. On day three it hit the $150.00 reserve. It was scheduled to close last evening at 18:28 and only showed the first bid of $14.99 in the search results.

Now, I know all seasoned sellers are aware that if a good quality item shows bids on a search results page bidders are more apt to look at the item, am I right here? So, bidders see my great item that should normally be around $150.00 at $14.99 they probably aren't going to look because they will assume one of two things. It's either damaged or not what the title states it is.

How can we let ebay know this is hurting not only us, the sellers, but them as well. Who knows how much money we've all lost because of this!!!

Edited for grammar (I had to I was an Enlish Major of all things!)

I disagree to some extent.

If I see an item that should sell for $100 that is currently sitting at $14.99 (in the last few minutes of the auction), I would be more likely to click through and see if I could get a bargain.

I pass on items that have been bid up to close to the going price and won't even look.

Really? I'm not being sarcastic, just surprised. From my own personal experience if an item says for example "Rare Tiffany Lamp" and it's only at $99.00, I usually assume it's probably NOT a Tiffany lamp otherwise it would be a LOT higher than $99.00 and am more apt NOT to click on it to see. Maybe I shouldn't assume, but I figured alot of people felt the same way.

See you do learn something new everyday!

Nope~! I click too! Hoping to get a good deal in the process!

However, a high number of bids will get my attention too. It must be good if THAT many people have bid on it. I've GOT to look!

I start all my auctions off at $1.00...After about a dozen bids.....look out-- here they come....And I am allways happy with the results.

I click too, and actually get QUITE annoyed when I discover, after clicking, that the $1 dress with no bids is actually up to $55 with 10 bids because the stupid eBay page didn't show the true status! :-P

But yeah, I will click on those, especially when bargain hunting for "needed" items (clothes and such).

I think that some people look for bids, I look for items. I don't think online auctions have much of a sporting quality compared to a live auction, especially with sniping.

I agree that it would be better if eBay found a way to keep their lists current.
