We purchased an old victorian style house almost 2 years ago. As we are in the process of remodeling some of it, we took up the old linoleum in our kitchen only to find out that there were newspapers underneath the linoleum. All of these newspapers date from 1917 to 1919. (I am assuming that they used newspaper for insulation under the linoleum?) There are alot of old ads for various products in these papers. I would like to be able to save them and frame them to put in my kitchen and laundry room but I am unsure if putting them behind glass will hurt them or not.

If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate your knowledge on what to do with these ads and if framing them is suitable or not. Also, is there a chemical out there that I can use to remove any dirt from them without actually hurting them?

Thanks
