Just a heads up, it appears that invoices sent on Sunday night did not reach the
customers. Off to deal with some PO'd customers. AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!

Reddeer: I saw that you had no replies to your angst. I use Billpoint and I wish more people would use it. Can you do Instant Payment so you won't have to go through this aggravation?

Yes, I can, but I sell Internationally & it [Instant Payment] causes nothing but a royal PITA.
BTW - I was just emailed by a Billpoint rep & she said.........
I just wanted to write and clarify something I told you last week that was incorrect. It seems that we will NOT be charging a deposit fee on transactions less than $15.00. I apologize that I was misinformed on this matter. Therefore, your true cost of an item less than $15.00 is $.35, not $.35 plus .5%.

After I left the post I realized that with International sales you really can't do the instant purchase. It is too bad because then your buyers could click on the page.
Thank you for the Billpoint info. $.35 for the convienience of accepting credit cards for less than $15.00 sounds like a good deal to me. I never did understand why some folks like to carp about Billpoint.
Maybe Billpoint could add a feature where it would send you an email after the auction with a link so you could enter the shipping amount post facto on the auction page. The buyer could then click on the page to purchase. It might save some time. eBay screws around with everything anyway, it would be nice if they would do something useful for a change.

Not only international but if you are doing Dutch auctions it can get complicated. It is not always easy to set a flat rate for shipping plus a flate rate for each additional piece. I am selling rather heavy things and it gets complicated as AK and HI are the same if it fits in a flate rate or is under 2 pounds but a 40 lb box can cost $50 to $80
Post or UPS that would be under $20 in the 48
states.

If I don't hear back from a Billpoint rep by the AM the sheet is going to hit the fan!
I have 1 customer that may never use Billpoint again after this SNAFU, and another that is now asking if they should just mail a check, even though they filled in the invoice & sent it in on Sunday night.
I don't mind paying the fees but not if the CS is non-existent. I've been avoiding using my PS rep contact to see how the average eBay user [for lack of a better term] would fair when a major SNAFU takes place. So far I'm not impressed!
SMW - I actually prefer sending the invoice as I always ask for a full name & address in my EOA email. With Billpoint it forces their hand as I won't send them an invoice until I get that info. [due to Overseas shipping costs] Some people refuse to send me their name & addy via email. Normally I don't make a BIG stink over it for those that feel somone might hack their info [gasp], but for Billpoint I demand it.
It allows me to cross check the info they provide me with the info they supply Billpoint.
I can then do a reverse phone # & addy check
on new users if it's a large $ amount.
I suppose only the real dumb scammers would get tripped up this way, but it's better than nothing.

Well, it looks like RL people do work at eBay. A Billpoint CS rep phoned me this morning & is going to call my customers & walk them through the payment process. It seems the invoice feature is still screwed up?
I also suggested this to him:
Please pass this suggestion on to the techs at Billpoint. Change the Instant Purchase option so that when an International customer attempts to pay via Instant Purchase they *only* get a screen prompt letting them
know they'll need to ask their seller to send an Invoice. [due to the various shipping options/costs]
Make it so an Invoice *does not* get generated so that the seller doesn't have to go in and cancel the initial invoice, and then create a new one. It would allow ALL sellers to use the Instant Purchase option without the fear of spending an additional 10 minutes screwing around when an International customer *attempts* to pay via Instant Purchase. Thanks.
