No response to ? about Gallery listing so will try another title to get someone"s attention. Is the extra .25 worth it? does anyone see more hits or bids if one uses it and will auctionwatch now upload a JPEG file to the Gallery?

I used the Gallery for about a month, I didn't notice any increase or decrease in activity. Personally I've never used the Gallery for browsing items I'm interested in purchasing.

Since it appears the default browse mode now includes thubnails, I think it's definately worth it.

However, I have not been able to find anything on this switch in eBay's announcements, and some people have reported that this is not the default view that they are getting.

In any case, I started using the gallery on all of my listings this week, and so far, I have been very pleased.

Also, since the thumbnails are so tiny, I've found that the gallery images often provide no useful information, so I created icons and graphics that say things like "No Reserve" or "Three Day Auction."

Title change - good idea because this question has been asked so many times. Just like an eBay aution - title keywords are everything.

But I agree that that now that eBays default will include the gallery thumbnails, it gives my quarter a whole new meaning. It's too soon to say for sure, but bids have been great lately.

Hi! I did the personal gallery for several months, but I stopped because I felt it was cutting into my meager profits more than I was happy with. I was afraid that when I stopped, the bids would go down along with the # of repeat customers, but I have not found that to be the case. My bids have been great, and I still have multiple bidders.

I think it depends on the category of merchandise you're selling. I've found gallery pix very worthwhile in women's clothing, because people are far more likely to (a) browse the category or gallery, and (b) because regular search terms don't really help the buyer find what she's looking for. It's much more "visual" than, say, buying a computer or a book (where you already know the author and title and what it's supposed to look like).

I don't normally use the gallery feature for anything except clothing...unless it's pretty special-looking (like some of my old sheet music). But for clothing, it really seems to work.

Also, I think a lot of the value in the gallery listing is not the actual thumbnail itself, but fact that it puts a lot of white space around your title and really makes it stand out.

Again, this is really only applicable if the view gallery option really is the new default.

To answer your other question about AW uploading the pics, I usually add 3 pic to each of my auctions. I create all my auctions in AW. The first pic I load is always my gallery pic. Never had a problem with them either.

Thanks for all the comments. Think I will give it a try on my next item.
