I could really use some help with these two pieces...Been searchin' eBay for longer than I even care to think about & can't find anything that matches....I'd be very greatful for any info!...THANX!!!!

The "vase" lookin' thing is actually an old lamp base, it is signed "Belelang" (?), incised on the bottom "2104", some of the flowers have "raised" paint spots (eg. part of a petal, or the center) No other ID markings......The closest thing I've found to this are vases marked "Turnteplitz".....

The large green lamp has no ID markings (or signatures), has the same type of "raised" paint....Old Old plug.....

AOL....AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I think I fixed it, this time!....Pardon the pic quality, my photo shoot area is buried under eBay inventory & I shot these at an alternate (obviously not real good) location!

That'll teach me to take the summer off!

Hi.
Do not confuse these things with 'Teplitz'. They are either American or made for the mass export market European, likely Eastern Europe from the pre WWII era. Maybe 1940's....Value....oh about 30 - 75.00 each.

The opinions of others may vary. The pink one looks like a vase that was cut into a lamp...or possibly was made to be either/or.

Nothing to get too excited about. Lots of this type stuff in the NorthEast. Good luck with them,

Dr. Trooth

Hi Rancher.

I found a listing for Turn Teplitz. It is a place listed as being in Bohemia, Austria.
now Trnovany, Czechoslovakia from what I can tell.

Since Turn Teplitz is a place rather than a manufacture. I think the "Belelang" may be the name of who made the lamp but I can't find anything in Teplitz or Austria that comes close to this name. Could the "B" be an "R" or some other letter?

Most of the manufactures I found in Turn Teplitz were in production from about 1895 to about 1940.

If you can look to see if "Belelang" could be something else, no matter how strange I'll try to find it. But then too, maybe someone else will read this and know right away what it is. I am sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanx folks!!!

TammiAndy....Glad you like 'em...Me too & I don't know what they are either LOL

Dr.Trooth.....The reason I'm comparing the smaller one to Turnteplitz is that my mother owns (& I grew up with) a vase marked "Turnteplitz Bohmia RSTK" (which we never even looked at til I started eBayin) and although I haven't had the opportunity to compare them side by side, this one has so many of the same characteristics.....According to the woman I purchased it from, it was a lamp which broke (the electrical parts only!) and rather than throw it out, her mother kept it as a vase with dried flowers...There is a large hole in the bottom & a smaller one on the top, so it could quite easily be turned back into a lamp.....Considering what I paid for these, I would be quite happy with 30-75.....Thanx for your input....

Howdy SMW.....Thanx for all the research you did!!....The sig is difficult to read, but I'm pretty sure the "B" is a "B" although the rest is harder to read...Could also be Belclarg..or Belchary......Oh how I wish the first course artists had to take was "handwriting"!

Appreciate the help.....

Those bases scream: 1940-1950's to me as they are exactly what my mother had in her house at that time. Actually, they are quite attractive! Not to me, of course, but somebody out there, will love them for just that reason. Good luck! (I assume you took the felt off of the base and checked the mark in Kovel's or another mark book?)
