Does anyone know what, if any, significance there is to a beer stein with three handles-one on either side and one in the back? I am envisioning some type of group toast. I have three (West Germany 1985) I'd like to list but would like to be able to describe them appropriately. Thanks for any help.

I believe they're called "stirrup cups", and were made to be passed from rider to rider during a hunt.

Thank you for the lead Pickersangel. I'll see what I can find.
