I received an e-mail from SafeHarbor asking me to update my contact information. Except for my e-mail address, my contact information has been valid for about two years. I changed my e-mail address (and registered the appropriate change with eBay) 7 or 8 months ago but that is the only change since becoming a registered user.

My contact information has not been pulled by anyone so my guess is that I have a buyer who cannot reach me via e-mail. Any other guesses as to why I would be reported to SafeHarbor for invalid contact information?

It's the Blacklist. You're on it. Might as well fold up your tent, they're on to you.

I think some of the folks over there at SafeHarbor sit around thinking up interesting things to do INSTEAD of attending to business.

I had two FVF credits to file (only one was a non-paying bidders) and two partial credits to file, and did all 4 at one time. Of all stupid things they emailed the people involved (copying me), one of which is a brand new ebayer who'd bought a whole bunch of stuff from me, and they got it wrong: saying in their email that I'd told ebay that she'd decided not to purchase these two items. How embarrassing all around (esp. for ebay), and how confusing for the poor new ebayer. And I REALLY resented that their form letter made it look to the buyer like I'd lied. Sheesh!

If they attended to other problems as zealously as they do their chump-change fees (these were NOT expensive items), ebay would be a lot better place to do business.

Let us know what else you find out about this new kind of silliness, if you will.

That happened to me also.

If you don't respond to SafeHarbor within 24 hours you will be NARU. Even if you do, you have made their "watchlist" because you have been reported. Time to pack up.

Someone may be out to get you.

CleverGirl: Did you report this error to eBay so they can fix it? The letters are sent out automatically, and it sounds like their codes are messed up (you know, if reason=A, send email B; if reason=C, send email A).
