I have an item up on eBay right now, and I am doing a happy dance, but do not understand why. There are 2 more items like mine up and one of them closes the day after mine, and the other about 5 days after mine. Mine has gotten bids for 2 days and is up to 40.00 while the others are up to 19.00 and 1.00. I see no difference in the auctions, in fact it is obvious the second seller copied my description almost word for word. Any thought on why. The first auction was up before mine as a 10 day as opposed to mine being 7 hence mine ending a day before his.

Since I have been forced to remove the url to my own auction, any computer savy person who would like to see what I am speaking of can use the tools provided by AW or eBay to search for any item I may be selling. I will let you guess my eBay name. If you can not figure it out, you will not be of any help anyway, it is that obvious.

What do these items usually sell for? That's more telling that what the rest of them currently listed are bid at, especially since they close after yours. Put a watch on those two items--I'm sure that after your item closes, you'll see the prices on the others start to rise.

It is a semi unusual item and I only found 1 in a search of completed auctions. It went for 40.00. I just do not understand why the others are not getting bids while mine climbs. Feedback is near the same for us all. I am happy, just puzzled.

From what I can see, you have more of a description than the others. One only has a one-sentence description. Not very detailed at all. I also see you are the only one who accepts paypal. That could be a big reason the others aren't getting any bids. I get people who tell me all the time that if I didn't accept paypal they probably wouldn't have bid.

I'll bet you your high bidder will pay with Paypal!

I'm sorry but I will have to delete your post if the edit is not done within 30 minutes.

scrabblegod: I think Linda means that we can now see who the sellers are of the OTHER 2 auctions... they have to be invited if you don't edit out your URL....

scrabblegod, I realize it's your auction. It's your bidders privacy I was referring to.

Please remove the url.

Scrabblegod, your auction is much more professional looking so that might have something to do with the bidding discrepancy. I am amazed at how the other seller stole your description! That takes nerve!

mapledr1216,
I take it as a compliment, however they better be glad they did not link to my pictures also. Then the fun would have begun.

Your auction ends first. The people bidding on your item are probably going to jump to the second one when yours ends. Looks like some already have since the next one is at $19.50. That's really not surprising.

The one that's sitting a buck doesn't end until 10/8, a long time in bidder world. I would imagine the unsuccessful bidders will seek that one out if they lose the other two.

I bid on lots and lots and lots of stuff.
I could see it being a surprise if all the auctions ended on the same day and the prices were far apart, but this is fairly common. At least I've seen in over and over in my bidding.

Not Kerryann on eBay

I guess one of my new selling tools is to end my auction before others if possible on items with only a few listings. I also hope the Paypal thing is helping, as I am going to upgrade my account with them. For what it is worth, I still think you did us wrong Paypal (read my lips.. never a fee).
