I've been using it since then, too. Nice, simple program; quick download.

I run AdSubract almost all the time and haven't had any warnings yet. What site prompted the warning?

I think it had something to do with my notice of Microsoft Critical Updates .......you know how MS is, they have to be in charge of everything

Here is the warning from MS on the critical updates:
Their critical update engine must be able to "look" at your system in order to tell what updates you need to be current. If you block cookies etc, they are unable to gain this information.
You can set AdSubrtact to allow MS sites, or this site in particular to allow the cookies etc that it needs to function properly.
I hadn't gone to the Windows Update site since loading AdSubtract, so I'll just set AdSubtract to allow cookies etc from MS sites. The Windows Update is an important part of keeping your system up to date on many items, so it's worth allowing the cookies on this particular site.

I downloaded it, but it interfered with my home network and had no choice to disable it.
I also didn't like the fact that it would send all information through a proxy...

I was the one who put the original thread on this site. What i have found is a lot of site make you have to use cokkies so disable this from adsubtract and it works ..better ...as for the proxy thing well there is only one way the can get the info from you and that is when it shut down your conputer and info RELATED to adds goes back to them .....you should really read all the info on there web page about how the run the program http://www.adsubtract.com/pro/support/all.html

AW does not like this program l@@l at the letter i got last night...Hello eastwest,
I removed your thread about adsubtract from the Round Table forum because it was a bit over the top and seemed promotional.
It is those very banner ads that you are encouraging the membership not to look at that makes AuctionWatch possible.
I have left the one in the Ebay Outlook as it wasn't as blatantly promotional but warn you about flooding the forums with similar information threads.
Thanks for you cooperation,

I hate to bring this up since I probably will upset a few people. But have you ever noticed how many wonderful web services we can use, FOR FREE? Guess why. Because of the ads. We should be clicking on ads every time we like a website, just like this one. That's the only way free services will remain free. Think about it.

Not true most major free web sites do not use add formate any-more, in fact it has been proven that 1 in 1000 actually click on the add. The fact that they have choosen a casio as there major add..really bothers me and many others....the fact that ebay chooses to use them selves as there magor add bothers me ...and others ...so you keep your adds in and i will keep telling people about this free site till the cows come home
