I bid on 7 or 8 postcards of a certain type my mom liked and put a set amount in and decided to let it ride. Then I got an email from a lady who said she had been putting bids in on these but couldn't beat my bid (I think I only put $6 or so in for each one). She wanted to know if I would take the postcards when I got them to Kinko's and have color copies made, she said I could get four on a page for $10 and she would send me the money. Would any of you bother to do this? Something smells like a scam to me or something illegal, maybe I am just paranoid. If she likes the pictures that much, why can't she just print them out off of her computer? So far I haven't responded. I only won two of the postcards anyway for a total of about $12. Am I missing something here???

It's really nothing to be concerned about I have people ask me to do similar.Up to you if you want to do that, though its the time involved to do it and Kinko's also charges to use their software too.
You can get them done on the Fiery Color Photo printer they have.

Who is paying for the waiting time and travelling time to kinko? Unless you live next to kinko, who want to drive over there, parking the car, walk in kinko... Its too much work.

Let's see. She wants YOU to haul your sorry behind over to the copy center to make copies for her at cost, because SHE's too cheap to pay more than you will for the postcards?
I don't think so. But if you really want to do this character a favor, I'd add whatever your hourly wage is into that $10 (and don't forget shipping), and THEN see if she still wants you to make copies.

It's within the realm of possibility, I suppose, that Kinko wouldn't copy them anyway, since they'd be copyrighted.

I agree with HCQ I think she has a lot of nerve to ask you to copy them for her because she's too cheap to buy them herself.

Ignore this idiot. I used to have people email me for copies of books I was selling, saying they were "willing" to reimburse me the COST! I used to respond politely, explaining that the nearest copy machine is 25 minutes away, that it would take a lot of time, that it was unfair to the people who bid on the item, that the item was copyrighted (if it was), etc. I realized I was wasting more time emailing these nervy people! Ignore her!

Why she doesn't print them on her computer:
Though images may look fine on the screen, when they are printed details are lost. This is because pictures on the Web are typically a lower resolution (75-100 dots per inch). Why? It results in a smaller file size enabling images to load quicker, and monitors can only display about 80 dpi anyway.
