I've been beating my brains out trying to figure out why my hit count has gone down by more than 50% since eBay introduced thumbnails for gallery items on the listings.

I just loaded 2 different browsers and accessed my category by different routes. One route through eBays home page brought up this url with pictures.

http://listings.ebay.com/aw/plistings/list/category506/index.html

The other through the category overview page.

http://listings.ebay.com/aw/listings/list/category506/index.html

Notice the difference where "plistings" and "listings" are interchanged in the urls.

Ok, this leads me to believe that some folks searching listings will see the thumbnails and some will not.

The listings with thumbnails don't need bold nor yellow highlighting to stand out. But on the listings without thumbnails, bold or highlighting really grabs the eye.

I haven't use bold nor highlights for the last two lousy weeks thinking that every eBayer would see the thumbnails. Obviously this is not the case.

Anyone else re-listing the same item, seeing a drastic drop in hits?

More weirdness.

If you access the hyperlink from this message
you will be re-directed to the eBay listing without pictures. "/listings/"

http://listings.ebay.com/aw/plistings/list/category506/index.html

If you cut and paste the url into your browser, there is no redirection and the thumbnails page "/plistings/" comes up fine.

Go figure ???
